This wasn't a "TV movie": this was a LIVE one hour presentation {preserved on kinescope film, hence the "bad condition"} on "CLIMAX!" (October 21, 1954), a dramatic anthology series sponsored by Chrysler, and seen on CBS' Thursday night schedule [8:30-9:30pm(et)] from 1954 through 1958.
Someone had the movie in pretty good quality in its entirety about a year ago, but for the life of me I can't find it. Anyone know where I can watch the full 1954 version? Amazon has it to buy, call me crazy, I don't want to spend 50 dollars on a 48 minute show from 1954 that I've never seen before, lol.
ur welcome, i av to compare this with the new version 4 my media coursework so i stumbled across it lol dunno why they put it as 1953 wen its 1954 tho lol :)
@chatmanmat According to wikipedia -- the missing footage (minus the last few seconds of the credits) was found and included on a Spy Guise & Cara Entertainment VHS release. Spy Guise offered pre-orders for a DVD release, but rights issues with MGM forced them to scuttle the plans. MGM subsequently included the truncated version on its DVD of the 1967 Casino Royale.
man! there worked real hard to make this film back in the 1954 there was no clour for films and stuff but great film! I like the 2006 casino royale but there was all so one made in 1976... 3 CASINO ROYALES!!!
thats a classic James Bond ending with Bond killing the villan and then gets the girl and in his hands and kisses her thats an awsome ending in 007 history
The first Bond book Casino Royale produced for US television in the 1950's made "Jimmy" Bond an American agent.. Since the movie producers didn't own this book, it ended up a being made as a comedy in the 1960's starring Peter Sellars, David Niven, Woody Allen and Orson Welles.
alles was du hier siehst, fehlt bei den gängigen fassungen (die beiden schlußminuten, der host und der abspann), da die quali hier so mies ist im vergleich zum rest des films. die gängigen fassungen enden mit bonds satz "call the police".
The acting on this is great!. it deserves a reissue!!!

@thekillingjimmy That's an urban legend. While a 'corpse' did get up and walk on a Climax! episode, it wasn't Casino Royale.

I feel it is pretty good. It's gritty, just as the novel

This was live television in 1954... not film. It was all done in one take.

This was the Best Bond ever produced - HIGHLY underated! But seriously, this scene was really not that bad at all.
lagatuda 3 years ago
It's terribly acted, really boring and worst of all, American. Not good at all.

Was fehlt denn sonst? Der Abspann?
Which part is missing in a lot of editions? The titles? Or the host?
