Ok so all you peeps listen. The updated NAV has this disabled. So don't bother doing it if you have a newer version.  Also, Lexus should put point of interest of BARS, AND LIQUOR STORES..

just to let you know while i was at my lexus dealership i asked them how i could do this on my 2008 lexus rx 400h and they said they couldnt tell me nor did they want to tell me because i guess it voids the warrenty of the navigation sys.

By the way, its 5000 dollars for a new one

Press the start button twice with your foot OFF the brake. Then hold the info button and switch the headlight on and off 4 times. Enjoy.

Ok, this got me into a System Check Mode on my 07 IS250. Now what, though..?? I don't see anything about override. Simply telling me all systems are OK.

no there is a way but you cannot use this method... there are two methods....

method one involves cutting wires which will void your warranty on the navigation issues

method two is buying a device that you add into it... requires no cutting of wires, but costs roguhly $300 USD

Traction control is a dead issue -- the override is a flip of the switch. Too bad the overrided doesn't work for the nav -- one of my biggest pet peaves, next to not being able to upload my cell's phone book (verizon sucks)...;(

doesn't work on my 07 is350 either. they must have deactivated the feature with that sequence. does any know another way?

This system was first introduced in the Prius in 04. in the 06 remake, they changed the programming.

the RX has the same system in 05. i not sure if the 06 or the 07 use the same software. i'm surprised they used it in the IS.

Also in this model, you can get to various other functions by nav screen. maybe it's to help the dealers troubleshoot for the first few years.
