Fantastic playing!!! Congratulations to this British Army Band..... Can you please tell me which are the 2 Marches that they are playing ??? By the way I am playing in a band too....I am from Corfu(Greece) and we have almost the same uniform like the British Army....you can take a look in my channel....
Fantastic! If this doesn't make you proud to be British then nothing will. We really do have the most amazing armed forces and they do such a brilliant job on these occasions. Long live the Queen!
Absolutely brilliant..loved watching it. I am an ex military bandsman, laughed out loud at the 2:48 mark. The lance sergeant had to step out of the way of the band coming through....I just found it very funny.
Hi Thebigdrum, I'm a former Army Musician. Thanx for posting. I'm also a filmmaker residing now in Berlin, your images of such a difficult procedure - filming Trooping the Colour, are pretty good. Keep the good work up and I'll be looking out for your improvement next year. Good luck, Trotmane.
Thanks very much, Spiciu, for those very kind remarks. The camera was a Panasonic TM 300 - which is capable of excellent HD results. This was my very first outing with the camera and I left everything pretty much on auto. I think I could do better now.
... especially when your horse looks as though it might want to head off up the side street for an adventure with a police horse - see horses in rows four and five!
The trombonists always say the trick is to play away from the horses head because if he throws his head back the mouthpiece could go down the musicians throat!
That would make for an interesting glissando! The trombone must be particularly difficult because it is the only instrument here that relies on both embouchure and accurate positioning of the slide to get the note in tune.
Rain can be especially damaging to the detailed embroidery emblazoned on the colours.
That's why the colour casing goes wherever the colour goes. Just in case there is a sudden change in weather, where the colour can then be quickly cased and protected from the elements.
Hi DeathReaver10. The first full rehearsal is held two weeks before the actual ceremony, and is called the Major General's Review. This video was taken at the second full rehearsal, held one week before the ceremony, and this is called the Colonel's Review.

A moth-eaten rag, on a worm-eaten pole,
It does not look likely to stir a man's sole,
'Tis the deeds that were done 'neath the moth-eaten rag,
When the pole was a staff, and the rag was a flag.

As a former member of The Royal Army Medical Corps, its good to see the British Army has not lost its ceremonial touch. Good Show chaps.

@ 2:13, watch the drum major on the far right, he gestures for the street liner to make way.
It's kinda cool because that was one of the main functions of the drum major, to clear the way with his mace.
