  • Why does it sound like there's like some sort of radar in it (The dinkdinkdink crap sounds like radar to me).

In other words, I don't think it's a number station or backwards radio station, just radio frequency puke :P

  • when I listen to this i picture a probe droid floating down a road dragging an empty can

  • It's XC actually. XB is/was "the buzzer".

  • I always wondered why nobody ever triangulates the positions of these stations and at least finds the physical location of the tower. I know it's been done with one in new Mexico, but you don't hear about people locating the towers very often...

  • @uncleben03 people have foxhunted these actually.

  • this sounds more like the backwards radio station. Not really a numbers station

  • It's not a numbers station, it's an ENIGMA 2000 oddity, see the X.

  • they probably used these kinds of audio files for the imperial probe droid to save money.

  • Sounds more like a computer hard drive being picked up on SW radio than a number station... Was a computer on when you recorded this??

  • If you listen closely, you can hear numbers in a robot-like voice.... Fallout 3's number station rumors have me looking at this.

  • its morse code -.-

  • This is why you don't rely on an Imperial probe droid to make oolong.

  • Welcome to the Backwards Music Station, it is considered a number station related to either the Navy or NORAD.

  • @g0lbez81 its not XM.

  • So from what I'm hearing this is an Imperial probe droid making tea and popcorn. That's the only logical thing I could think of :D

  • It sounds like that probe droid on hoth in the empire strikes back

  • sounds like some one is making popcorn and tea at the same time.

  • That's okay I wasn't planning on sleeping anyway.

  • IMPERIAL PROBE DROIDS ARE ATTACKING THE HOMESTEAD, LUKE!

  • Hmmmm....this doesn't sound like a numbers station, but a collection of random statics...I think you got pranked to tell the truth...I've heard all of the non-top-secret numbers stations out there so far, and this doesn't sound like too many of them...however I want to scan it anyways, just for the hell of it...never know what you might find in randomness.

  • @seaka123 I'm somewhat inclined to disagree. This particular transmission was taking directly from the Conet Project, on disc 4 to be precise, interferring with other stations, whether there's an actual message to be found within, who knows.

  • @MrDrSmithJr Maybe some kind of coded data burst?

    Could be quite possible.

  • @MrDrSmithJr there is this one computer program that turns soundwaves into pictures, try that out

  • Ack ack! Ack ack ack ack! Ack ACK ACK ACK! Ack ack ACK!

  • Its sounds like a heavily static'd recording of someone talking.

  • This may be a Harmonic/Spurious emission of a computer router/network or I/O channel of a computers motherboard. Next time you hear it, have a look at your computer drive access light and the router/modem as well as the nic cird. I but you will find it correlates. If it was there once, it should be there consistently. Unless it was an actual transmission which I find interesting.

  • Popcorn popping, the high whine of a tea kettle needing to be taken off the stove, savage winds racing across the surface of an alien planet, and oh yeah, the garbled conversation of creatures saying, "The humans are ripe and soft. Very tasty."

  • Is there some morse in it?

  • Parts sound EXACTLY like an Imperial Probe Droid.

  • @BobbyTubes lol, your right

  • This sounds like an old computer, loading a program or something. xD

  • Oh shi- Recon Craft Theta Beacon?

  • @Mrcadefulp I THINK YOUR RIGHT.

  • @MrCadefulp Don't we all love Fallout?

  • yeah what this is is the KLF infiltrating your music collection, your simply red records will spontaneously combust

  • you probably picked up this transmission of an actaul probe droid scanning your local area. prepair for the invasion of Earth.

  • "This signal is not used by the Alliance. It could be an Imperial code."

  • Comment removed

  • Is that Weeble and Bob at the start talking.

  • Very interesting, Ive never heard of this one before now. What a strange signal.

  • Terrifying. e.e Very good catch! :D

  • Ah, yes. That recording's off the Conet Project isn't it? The crackle seems to be on top of a VOLMET (sounds like Shannon VOLMET).
