I found writing the tab down for the 4 in a line pentatonic helps a great lot, you begin to see a pattern and it helps a lot

Is the pentatonic scale always played on the fifth fret or can it be played anywhere on the neck?

you can play it anywhere on the neck but you have to consider the root notes which is the fret where you begin ;)

Very nice mate thanks alot! Ur really helping out the beginners here. I'd say im a beginner, im moderately skilled with the pentatonic scale. I play mostly Hendrix but now i've just really started playing my own stuff and applying Hendrix's techniques to my playing. Really dig ur style man, keep up the good work!
