I got the big brother :D z-5500. Personaly I think It's beast. If i use a 320kbps song I can't take on max volume. The excursion is too much for that 10" in my opinion

hey! I was wondering if you ever have thebass cut out. I have a 2.1 set and the bass always disappears at exactly 40Hz. I really love dubstep/electronic music so this is terrible for me.

There is one song in particular called Neon by Doctor P. If you Youtube a HD version and get to 1:10 that is where my bass disappears. Care to see if the Z623s get through okay? You might even like the song. ;)

z2300 much better...z2300 are 8 inch and z634 are 7 inch z23300 have strong bass and this bass is suck

@Ionutz304 I've owned both. An equalizer can help with the frequency response, therefore making the higher powered 7-inch a strong competitor to the old 8-inch. D!ck measuring does nothing in the audio world. Do research before you flame.

@Ionutz304 I have not been stupid enough to play either the z-2300's or the z623's at max volume. However at 3/4 max volume, they both handle nicely. If you've owned either system and don't have an equalizer, you should know that you'd need to turn down the bass a bit by that volume level, as the mid tones in both systems are sh*t.

@RWL2011 point made. but either way, it's logitech. I live in fremont, right next to the logitech HQ. Anything you get from logitech is better than the competition, so you won't be disappointed with whatever you get. Seems to me like they are making so many good products, that they are starting to compete with themselves lol

@RWL2011 I understand I had a faulty one. but I did my research on google, and it seems that a lot of people had the same problem. I never meant to give the impression that every z2300 is bad, just there are a lot of faulty ones out there, and I have yet to hear a fault about the z623

@sk8rhippie i almost have my z-2300 for a year now just 10 months old and the volume control cables has a "glitch" what to call it but it's easy to fix and yea i have been pounding really hard on my z-2300 tested full volume and full subwoofer and the subwoofer distorts massive just like 3 secs i have giving much pain to these speakers and they still lasting hard and bangs hard

For all those kiddies make sure you are using headphones when trying to evaluate in any meaningful way - even though it's all but impossible regardless. If anything you can get a feel for the behavior of the sub.

@sprout21355 uh. idk i haven't tried. that would blow the speakers so i don't think anybody has a reason to do that. however, if you turn them up really loud [5/8 of the way up] it sounds great

The sub is good I suppose as its a THX certified one, but please have a look at my channel, I have a Sony SRS DB500 300W 2.1 speaker system. It boasts of a 150W sub. And tell me how my Sony's are.

@gamerboy249 you cannot tell how good speakers are from a recorded video. Sony is a decent brand. If they put more power into their 2.1 system, I wouldn't be surprised if they also have a better frequency rating. And, of course, a bigger price tag.

@benigo15 it's too close of a call. i like the satellites on the z2300's more...but i think that's just my opinion. i'm not sure if it actually sounded better. either way, it's not noticeable and i doubt you'd regret buying the z623. however, i would never buy the z2300 again unless the price went below $100. i don't like the controller and how easily it shorts out. made me feel as if i was never getting the best possible sound.

@sk8rhippie Hey I think my z-2300 are having a problem.. Did you ever notice that the right channel is significantly quieter than the left? I switched the speaker's and its not the speaker itself but the channel for the amp. please help

@sp3ar2envi Yes. same thing to me. It isn't the channel of the amp, it's actually the 3.5mm chord coming from your controller into your [pc/xbox/tv/wtvr] the chord is cheap. i tried taking mine apart and attaching my own 3.5mm chord; no dice. unless you wanna buy a new controller [about $30 cheaper than an entire z-2300 2.1 setup on ebay] i say yer system will soon be fucked. at least that's what happened to me. then i got the z623's. hurrrraaaaaay!
