John, This is very nice! Very, very smooth the way I like it. Too bad we live so far away. It would find it fun for me to play my violin with you playing this number on the steel guitar. I'm not in your league but I would love to be able to give it a try on the fiddle. Great video.
John : you did it again with your fantastic fingers on that Sierra; when I bought my Sierra, I honestly fely it was the greatest sounding steel which I' had ever played; For sustaining out put and a sound that will not quit. Loved your version of Soft Rain. Really like your recording technique on your production of your U-Tube postings.. Keep them coming..Bernie
Thanks Bernie, This is my first couple of Steel instrumentals ever, I have always found them hard to do, maybe it's from years of doing back-up playing and never having to play solo instrumentals and being on the road for so many years I have never found the time to learn any.
Saying that I did write a tune many years ago as a play off for the band I was with at the time, we did record it on the first LP that the band did , I'll look it up and post it for a bit of fun...John
John, that was nice. You know what? You have your own style and your own unique sound. I am quickly falling in love with the sound of that Sierra. What nice sounding steel indeed.
This is a remade version. The audio has been changed but the video is the same, so some of the hand movements may be out of time with the video, I don't have the camera at the moment it's away for service..
Who is playing the steel stuff on the intro and the ride? (Some of the backup also seems to feature another steel guitar and player, as well.)
