He was DQ'd because on the last lap, last turn he was in the 4th (last) postion and trying to muster a last minute pass...but he couldn't because there was really no room to move anywhere. That's when he "gently" placed his hand on the 2nd Canadian skater's back, who then fell (but I don't think Apolo's hand was the direct cause of it). Then, somehow the Korean skater also slipped, but the commentators said he fell on his own. So yes, unfortunate call for Apolo with the DQ.
