  • yoonsblur! I want to adopt you! XOXOXO

  • My parents are Danish and English...I'm not adopted, but I didn't grow up with either British or Danish culture. What I'm saying is that despite my loss of culture, I do not feel like I've lost anything. I grew up Canadian and I never ate bangers and mash or rode my bike through Copenhagen. I never went to discover my home land. I live in Korea. I found myself here as a foreigner and I like parts of Korea like you will...just cause they are great, not because it relates to me genetically.

  • "Correction" factor has been largely ignored or brushed aside when attempting to gather experiential information....

  • I think it's also to point out that there can b a great chasm in the role gender has on the experience, opinions, and ideology of Asian adoptees....I believe this facot

  • I enjoy the videos that you have up. I am acutually an adoptee that recently reunited with my birth parents at the age of 23 in August of this month. I dealt with similar issues as you displayed in your videos. Now that we have been in communication, things are well. However, I am learning that I truely must allow myself to grieve and to heal for the time that was lost between us. And or possibly explore conseling treatment. However, continue to post video about how you are feeling..Thx

  • you're so pretty :)

  • My heart goes out for you, I can not imagine what you have been through but I understand the loneliness and isolation you must have felt during your adolescent and college years. God has special plan for you and hope you find what you are looking for....you have a korean friend here if you need help with the language or understanding the culture.... friend from Australia

  • you're really hot

  • How did you start the process? Where did you go? I was adopted from Chechon Childrens Home when I was 5, in 1981.

  • Hey I hope the best for your journey! I can tell you firstly that there will be MUCH to expect when it comes to culture shock. Heck for a 2nd generation immigrant coming back to the motherland, it is still quite a shock for me to learn about many different pros and cons about this country! But nontheless, I really hope your journey is a wondrous one. Good luck!

  • Thanks, YunSeung. Actually, I've been back twice now. Once last June/July and again last September. The language wasn't the hardest aspect for me. The food was amazing, though! And the culture is definitely complex with things that I like and things that I didn't like. But every culture is that way...Thanks for your comment! Hope all is well.

  • Thank you for sharing. I never know what to do with this information! That is probably because my daughter is young. Like you said, she will have her own road and no one else can tell either of us how she will feel and react to the circumstances of her life. At least you are making us aware of the currents going along under the surface.

I hope you have the support of your parents since it should your birthright to know about your birth parents. Best of luck on your journey.

  • thank you for sharing your thoughts and for taking the time to listen...my parents are being very supportive :) only 4 1/2 more weeks before we leave for Korea! I'm so nervous but excited!

  • Thanks, "youthewhat"...actually, I have not met my birth parents yet...still in the process of trying to raise the funds to get to Korea...I'm aware of the cultural differences, but I know that ultimately nothing will prepare me for all the good, the bad, and the ugly...thank you for taking the time to check out my story...take care!

  • your story is very touching. i hope it wasn't a cultural shock for you to finally meet your birth parents. you know, asian elders always say that the parents that raised you are the one God chose to be your parents and that on your way down from heaven, you only borrowed your birth mother's womb to be born. i guess you can say, it's your fate. i would love to see the reunion. good luck and god bless.
