no. this method is only for firmware 1.1.4. new 3g iphones are native 2.0 (and they will be sold only whit a contract activated DIRECTLY in the stores).

i was going to get the upgrade done for me but the guy told me he tried and it just made the iphone usless. like he showed me and u coudn't slide the slider of do anything

try rebooting the phone in restore mode (it will show the itunes icon and the dock cable on the screen). then open itunes and try upgrading or restoring your phone. after this is done use ziphone. USE ONLY ZIPHONE! don't trust other sw unless you are sure it will work. if not, you risk to brick your phone!
