  • What nonsense.

It is not 'rather sad' at all - it's just a happy and carefree approach to music making and learning, while still being entertaining and informal as the Tanglewood classes are intended to be.

Do you deny Perlman's artistry, or the promise of the young student?

  • It is rather sad - they both treat the instrument in terms of a circus stunt rather

    than making music .

  • @Vincetheviolin He's playing the first movement of Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto No. 5

  • GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD

  • I thought his bow was gonna get caught in his hair

  • I was wondering why i've never heard of this amazing young violinist in this video, "Chou Lian Ling." I soon realized it was THE Cho Liang Lin. Spell it right.

  • i love the song at the end! :D

  • Correction on the name of the violinist, his name is LIN Cho-Liang. He is Taiwanese-American, and is of Chinese descent. With respect, appreciate if you'd make an effort to get the name of the artist right, thank you.

  • Itzhak Perlman, a victim of polio which destroyed his ability to use his legs has used his superior talents to become a violin virtuoso unsurpassed. On December 16, 2009, he presented a concert in the Kennedy Center to benefit Rotary International's Polio Plus program to eradicate polio from the world. It only exists in Kenya and SE Asia now and must not be allowed to spread. The 1.2 million Rotarians around the world have this cause as their #1 goal.

  • When this film was made, Itzak were 33 years old...and Bazzini's "La Ronde des Lutins " is the song in the credits, of course. Mr. Perlman loves to play it !

  • Love this Video

  • Comment removed

  • it is "dance of the goblins"

  • @my7406 Yep, it's la ronde des lutins, from bazzini

  • Bazzini - La Ronde des Lutins

  • wheres the rest of it?

  • 超強的!

  • he comes from mars 林昭亮

  • Perlman and his stories... What a stud. Maybe he could tell me how to NOT staccato, or at least how to only staccato when I'm supposed to.

  • @ErktheEngineer

How not to staccato: Drop your entire of your right arm into the bow, change speed to get sound. the weight should be in the bow but you still have to regulate bow pressure. practise different stroke lenghts and speeds to get used to it.

  • jajjajaja I love hiiiim! that was PERFECT!!

  • the name of the younger violinist is spelled "Cho-Liang Lin", not "Chou Lian Ling". Lin is his family name. His name in Chinese is 林昭亮.

  • I got the name from the credits of the movie... That doesn´t mean I don´t believe you.

  • Actually, the credits say Chou Liang Lin.

  • Oh man, YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he comes from Taiwan,林昭亮
