Lol people why hate so much...Video doesn't say he can play like marcus miller and use the technique...I actually respect this much more rather than a video of him being all "look I can play this as fast and as good as marcus miller so Imma show my huge cock around" ...you can just as well watch marcus miller do it...I think this shit is good...he showed it slowly...which prolly most of bass beginners and people craving to learn it can't see while marcus is doing it...

But you're right, I was just trying to share to people because I know so many people (including me) really wanted to nail this technique.. @themaschi well it aint, but it shows how much i worked hard for it. It's not a slap ring, it's a band aid. I ripped my skin off my thumb at that time.So in order to keep practicing, I needed one. Also if you don't like people wearing slap ring then better off just shut up, your opinion is only less than a dollar.

i never got the right sound, so i came up with my own way of doing it. i do a pluck on the g string, then hammer a dead note with my left (!) hand, then a thumb and another pluck on the g string. but your way is probably the more marcus milleresque way ;-)

It takes a while, but all i can say is just practice.. and try to think of economy of motion.. means not to move around so much. alot of people can slap, but not everyone can. so yeah, chill abit.

@Bmadink the way i learned to do it was to just keep doing simple beats with my plucking hand and muting the strings with the other untill i got comfortable with that then id add in notes and make up little riffs but nothing complicated. id just stay in one position. another thing is to take it slow. the speed will come with time and practice.
