Grayson beat his republican opponent by the slimest of margins (52% to 48% I believe it was) and Alan lost in 3 of the 4 counties (which by goofy 2000 presidential demlogic means "he isnt really our senator"). Do you actually LIVE in Florida's 8th? I do. Grayson beat his republican opponent by the slimest of margins (52% to 48% I believe it was) and Alan lost in 3 of the 4 counties (which by goofy 2000 presidential demlogic means "he isnt really our senator"). It is also worth mentioning Grayson rode his way into the Senate on Obama's coat tails, which really isn't looking like a very feasable option anymore... (Obama's aproval rating is barely 50%, worse than Bush was at this point in his presidency)

I love how you paid just enough attention to what I actually said to nitpick it over 1% yet neither answered my valid question nor commented on the fact that I said exactly HOW he got elected. (He borrowed Obama's popularity, which is almost nonexistent now, especially here in central FL where we're starting to realize that Obama Branded "Change" means giving up much in return for very little.

People like you ignore any valid point that doesnt prove theirs, then trumpet stupid mistakes their opponents make and thats is exactly what your party does best. Given that I know Grayson represents my district (I live in Winter Park Florida FYI) that should make it pretty clear i know he isnt a senator, yet you choose to belittle my misstatement rather than respond to any of my points

The Democrats you're talking about were actually conservatives in ideology, and vice versa for Republicans.Having the names "republican" and "democrat" is incidental - their ideologies were liberal and conservative, respectively, then came the ideological shift in the 60's. That's why men like Trent Lott and Arlen Specter, etc., because "republicans".

Do you really think Lincoln would be a Republican nowadays? Political parties change over time, and to think that a historical figure would agree with all of the planks of a party's platform simply because it shares the name of the party he belonged to when he was alive is a bit obtuse. I'm not saying Lincoln would be a Democrat if he was alive today, but to blindly assert that he would be a Republican just because of the name seems a bit silly.

Back up your statement. There are obviously racists in both parties, but historically speaking the Democrats have ALWAYS been the more racist party of the two parties. The Republican party was founded as an abolitionist party. FDR(Democrat champion) put a Klansman on the surpreme court. The Dems opposed civil rights and equality between blacks and whites, while the republicans championed it.

Chris Matthews makes an excellent point about what saying, "I am a Liberal" means; it mean life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all human beings! The millionaires of the 1950's who were in a 91% tax bracket were not complaining; if Eisenhower and Nixon were around today they would be Democrats. Both of them were closer to today's liberal ideology than conservative ideology of today! Read their writings, read their tax rates, read the entitlement bills they supported. Wake up!!

Since they will be levying new taxes on everyone in various ways for 5 years before any new health care is provided, maybe we should ask why if such a crisis and people are dying, why the democrat plan is to allow the dying for 5 more years?

Americans are dying because they have fatal illnesses like emphysema from smoking, cancer, etc...
Not because they don't have health care.
Even Obama's health care is not good enough to save someone's life that is fatally ill.
