  • Fantastic! My favourite hymn and you sing and play it beautifully!

  • Sir, do you have the tabs for the way you play it? Or where can I find it? It is really superb, especially the fill in... it kind of reminds me of the Jurassic Park theme song. :)

  • 5 stars!

  • I have to do an intro guitar solo for my mother in law's funeral on Monday (10/19) and would love to just play the chords. Could you post the chords? - I've figured out some of them, but not all. Thanks in advance.

    Andy - Naples, FL

  • You wrote me, asking for the guitar chords? I just like the song a lot. There would have been no guarantee that I would have what you are looking for.

Yet, lucky for you, I do have what you are looking for. Let me have your e-mail address, and I will send you what you need.

  • great song which i havent heard in years. we used to sing it at school. Thanks!

  • In memory of Graham R Wade 16-8-1931 to 24-8-2009. I learned about this hymn through my stepfather. He lived this hymn and now he is gone it reminds me of him. The most beautiful hymn, if only we could all do as this hymn says - the world would be a much friendlier and loving place.

  • 4. I will weep when you are weeping.

When you laugh, I'll laugh with you.

I will share your joy and sorrow

Till we've seen this journey through.

    5. When we sing to God in heaven,

    We shall find such harmony

Born of all we've known together

    Of Christ's love and agony.

  • THE SERVANT SONG by: Richard Gillard 1. Brother, sister, let me serve you. Let me be as Christ to you. Pray that I might have the grace To let you be my servant, too. 2. We are pilgrims on a journey. We are brothers on the road. We are here to help each other Walk the mile and bear the load. 3. I will hold the Christ-light for you In the night time of your fear. I will hold my hand out to you; Speak the peace you long to hear.
  • Can I print the words in a book I'm writing?

    Who holds the copyright actually?

    Louise Morse

  • It would be a MIRACLE if you came to our church.

  • are you really the author? i love this song by the way!!

  • thanks be to our lord. this is simply the best. your a hit with me!!!!!

  • You gave the world quite a gift when you wrote this song.

  • This is my all time favourite hymn that we sing often at church and I can't believe I've found it on Youtube!! I can't say I'm partcularly religious but this song just makes me fill up everytime.

  • A song I first heard ans sang as a six day neophyte Christian convert at university in 1979. It has not ceased to pull me godwards since. Especially when the author sings it ...

  • My husband and I chose this song to be played at our wedding during communion. There wasn't a dry eye in the sanctuary.

This song reflects how we feel about this journey we share together.

    Bless you.

  • My parents had it played at their wedding in 1984. One day I will have it played at my wedding too.

  • My husband and I chose this as one of the songs played at our wedding during communion. There wasn't a dry eye in the church.

    Bless you.

  • Wonderful!

  • A visiting Irish priest sang this acapella, as his sermon, at my church a few years ago. I will never forget it! Gorgeous song....

  • I'm watching this and thinking "Gee this guy sounds like Richard Gillard" then it clicked (senior moment). But why didn't you use the original lyrics?

  • these are the original lyrics!! insofar as they communicate the original spirit and intent of the song which was to speak of and to the entire christian family. 'Brother' in the original was shorthand for 'brother and sister' and also shorthand for family. Go figure!

Caught your show last night Rob and heard that outlaw sing his shooting the Lord song. God bless you and all who love you, man.

  • @robatrhema @rickmystic

I just listened to this after searching for the lyrics to share with a friend. I used it at my wedding in 1994, and it was in the Mennonite Church hymnal before then ("Hymnal: A Worship Book"). Yes, the only change in the lyrics is the "Brother, sister" at the beginning, an improvement. It's a lovely song that I treasure for its humility and the equal sharing of grace as something to give and receive. If I remarry, I will probably use it again at my wedding!

  • Today is Maundy Thursday and this songs fits perfectly the character of this day

  • I am an aspirant for the franciscan religious community. This is a song the perfectly fits what I am feeling right now. Your simple rendition is what made me cry...

  • We found this song in our hymnbooks. Thank you for the simpleness. I liked this very much
