  • I want it!!

  • Please someone tell me what is that little helmut looking thing on the driver front fender? Is it a light or something for low light driving?

  • @Minus42Zero We see the same device on the L.F. fender of the WW2 Kubelwagen. My guess is some kind of low-signature light. The 'helmet' would make it very hard to see from the air. In many places the Wehrmacht was, in WW2, aircraft overhead in the dark were as likely hunting Germans as not.

Or it might be the horn. Best regards.

  • @TheSonofmydad Thank you for the info and for not being a butthole like a lot of people do for no reason on here.

  • i love yor bug

  • It looks four wheel drive?

  • That Bug is a beast. Wouldn't be surprised to see it passing Blazers and Yoters all over tha place off road.

  • that one bug is worth more than 10 new lexus's~~~~

  • @veedubyuh82 and better too

  • what year is it ??????????

  • type 82 4wd.

  • sorry, 82E of course. Based on the "Schwimmwagen" Recoon Vehicle.

  • This is the coolest Bug I've seen in a long time. I have a 78 Super Vert, an It's already pretty sweet in its gun metal grey color, but I can't wait to make it look more like the old Kommandeurwagens..

  • Kommanduerwagen?

  • sweet

  • Vw sould make all of there model's from the 70's 60's 50's and 40's again, I love volkswagen's!

  • They cant! It would lack alot of characteristics.

  • hmm it has a shovel was this an officers kdf wagen cause if i remember correctly nazi officers usaully got kdf-wagens

  • Kommandeurwagen?

  • ya thats what they were called

  • I saw this bug in hot VW's!!!

  • very rare i feel happy for you

  • nossa! que interessante!

eu não sabia que era a manivela a partida do motor!

olha que eu tenho um desses 68! hehehe!

  • Is this an original war KDF Wagen? Or a replica made using a serial split Volkswagen from the late forties-early fifties?

  • It is an original war model, yes

  • It's a very rare model so! Here in Argentina there are only a few splits; Volkswagen importation from Germany started in 1958-59 and finished in 1962-63, and then started again in the late seventies from Mexico.

Congratulations for finding this car; I love to see this cars still working!

  • @croisette

    HOLY CRAP! That's amazing!

  • oh hell a KDF VW Split with the crank

  • That's an old bug !

    Old and rare vw.

  • WWII???

  • YES

  • ok, i was in my garage trying to fix the throttle on my 73' super. in my attempts, i dismantled the air intake and the carb. after fixing the problem i continued to put the parts back together and re-install them, i tried to turn it on and it wouldn't even try to turn over. anyone have any suggestions?

  • if no one has suggestions just make a video if you can, try checking battery wires or anything vital for starting,

  • Ooooh Sweet pics man. I love the hand crank, Check out a KubleWagen it has a drop down propeller thats splined to drop into the crank. They float and have a prop. Ingenious! German engineering is always impressive.

  • i have a vw old bus and a 4 beetles

    btw , 3 busses (: i luvv those cars :)

  • those old war time bugs are cool !

  • superbe, elle est comme neuve!!!

  • my dad has a vw 37 years old nice porche engine inside ... no scratches and its red... origonall everything except of course the engine....Man vw bugs have amazing acceleration

  • its a Split-window

    nice car

  • nice car!

  • it's very difficult to change the gears right? ;-)

the gearbox sounds like new cars only in the reverse gear! if i would have the money and the room, i would buy an "kübelwagen", "schwimmwagen" or a beetle like yours.... does it have 4-weel drive?

  • This one is classified as a Typ82-E. Standard Typ82's (Typ82-0) had Kübelwagen bodies, those were the most popular. I think only the Typ86 and Typ87 were 4x4, and most of those are gone.

The RWD VW's mostly relied on their light weight and self-locking differentials for clearing things that heavier vehicles needed AWD to handle. Kubel's and Kommandeur's were actually around 30% lighter than the MB/GPW (Jeep)!

  • Yes, it has everything from the Kübelwagen type VW 82 but has the body of the pre 1948.

  • Is it an original Type 82? At least the chassis look like...

  • nice car! in which year was it built? was it built for the "wehrmacht" or was it built later? i think it has 25.5 hp right? i also have an old 1974 VW bug but your car is simply awesome! :-)

  • This model is a pre-1948 and yes, only 25hp... Have a look to my other videos of this VW.
