  • THAT WAS MY LAST FUCKIN WIND TURBINE!!!

  • totally fail!

  • A little paint .. it'll buff right out =)

  • this is why we need nuclear power

  • could have sliced someones head off!

  • at least it waz a eco accident! :0

  • lol I wonder how much electricity that wind turbine created :D

  • Ninjas, in action.

  • Надо было внизу поставить активиста гринписа, выступающего за "безопасную" зеленую энергетику. Одним дебилом стало бы меньше.

  • Viewers should realize that this is like 3 large airplane wings spontaneously exploding outward in all directions while a 15 story building comes crashing to the ground. pretty awesome :P

  • The camera doesn't capture any of the wind?

  • its energy is over 9000!!!!!!

  • the spins are so fast it looks fake

  • @Jakanddaxter1999 It has something to do with the camera's frame rate i think.

  • made in china....

  • it exlodes at the bottem befour ,i sujest either somone blew it up?, or it exploded

  • ha ha learn that denmark

  • @TEAMDARKNESSHQ go fuck you self little cunt

  • @ThePieMan159 dude just write danish i can read and understand so peace out home dog p.s hvis du ikke kan dansk er du en perker

  • What exactly happened here? Was it spinning to fast? Was it caused by a loose blade?

    Very cool video! :)

  • @dslgunner1977 The brakes failed, therefore it spinned too fast and this happened.

  • @ThePieMan159 That is so cool how it just completely smashes into millions of pieces in a matter of seconds! Truly amazing!

I would love to see one of these in person - even if it was just running normally!

I know that we have them here in the US, but just not anywhere near where I live. I have only seen them on the television and computer - never in real life...YET!

  • @dslgunner1977 OMG theyre all over Denmark :D

  • @ThePieMan159 I think the majority of the wind farms in the USA are in Texas, Iowa, California, Minisota, and Washington, though other states have them, too. I currently live in North Carolina, which is not very close to any of these states. I did live in Chicago, Illinois for over 30 years (and will be moving back there soon). Well, I recently read about a small wind farm in northern Illinois (Chicago is also in North Illinois) I will definately have to make a trip to see it when I move back!

  • @dslgunner1977 Right:)

  • @dslgunner1977

It was an old turbine from the 80ies, ready to be scrapped, but the owner 'decided' to let it run for many years without service... Eventually, the brake system failed and engineers were called in. Due to windy conditions it was deemed too dangerous to climb the tower. There was quite a gathering when the weather forecast projected strong winds, people wanting to witness the inevitable.

  • Blade off test.... FAILED!!! :)

  • Nice

  • Made in China

  • Ain't centrifugal force a bitch!

  • This is why I think that wind power should be done as part of a home electric system. A home wind power system is so much easier on the eye than these giant windmills are.

Did you know that 7% of that electricity is lost in transmission from the giant wind farm to the home? If you use the wind power home generator, it's only about 2% loss in a good system. Home wind/solar is a better use of our efforts than giant windmills in utility that waste 7% of everything they make.

  • @HomePowerWind The transmission loss is minor compared to the power gains from the use of high average wind speed sites and the increase in wind speed available with height increase. Power increases by the square of wind speed. High average wind speeds sites are usually sparsely populated further reducing any perceived aesthetic issues.

  • MADE IN China

  • Time for Teletubb... OH SHIT

  • emergency brakes would have worked.. if the 3 man crew in the tower at the time didnt override it.. they were doin something with the brakes and what not the windspeeds were to much and the turbine went into overspin.. 2 guys made it out.. 1 guy died.

  • @98whiteGSX100 you are telling me 2 guys made it out ahaha its a steel piece of tubing hitting the ground at god knows what speed and you are saying they survived!

  • @98whiteGSX100 as far as i know, no one died ... it has been going for that some hours (or days cant remebber)

  • Epic air con

  • wow ive seen how those things are put together what a pain in the ass haha

  • WTF? Thought it was fast forwarded at first the thing was so bloody fast...

  • Will it Blend? That is the question?

  • @meerkatmandude

    Not anymore...

  • TOYOTA MODE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its because the wind force exceeded the design strength of the blades which bent back under the pressure and the caught on the mast. You're right the emergency brakes should have kicked in, but maybe the hydraulics failed... or maybe it was just a cheap design? awesome clip tho.

  • there goes thousands of dollars

  • I live in Central Pa & I can see 17 windmills when I look out my window. They are loud & an eye sore. I also have a gas well being constructed 200 yds from me. which sounds more like a truck stop/ highway. I moved to the country for peace & silence. Big mistake. But if the alternative is oil spills killing off any living thing in it's way I guess I can't complain, Too much.

  • This sure was a " Windy day "

  • I wonder what mechanical equipment don't fail...

  • pity they all don't do that

  • That what I call blender!

  • lol...'Yessssss'

  • ej ej ejXD

  • OMFG this is soo fast Accident

  • This is a fitting end because these turbines kill millions of birds each year. It would be nice to see them all blow up.

  • @Utubevoyeur1 that is a common lie told by people. Windturbines in Sweden alone caused 26 killings of eagles in a 4 year period, far less than millions. An american study showed that 10 000 - 40 000 birds are killed every year by windturbines and 60 - 80 million by cars and a whopping 98 - 980 million birds get killed by crashing in to buildings.

Spew your propaganda somewhere else plz.

  • Yup it's real.

  • pure kilowatt/hour power

  • I worked for GE Wind Energy and a runaway is some seriously scary ass shit... We had one get away in Wisconsin, engineers by passed the emergency brake for a test and forgot to take it off, the wind picked up that night. They pitched the blades to try and slow it but it was to late... The gear box fragged and sent pieces a 1/4 of a mile away! It was crazy, and the sound it was making going at that speed was impressive the most... It was a 1.5Mw WTG, and I mean WAS...

  • haha sejt

  • STI CAZZI...!

  • is that a van parked at the bottom of it ?

  • Yes, from the repair crew the manufacturer sendt out.

  • lol at first i thought it was computer generated image but im not sure it looks real as i can say but lol

  • @mangsanhanha its not fake, its was on danish television at the moment it happen ;)

  • when did i say it was fake?

  • Comment removed

  • @mangsanhanha computer generated?

  • wow alot of ppl are mad or dissapointed at me. just for me thinking it was computer generated which in fact i dont think it is computer generated because i saw a news about this and now i truly believe its real

  • PS: LOL well yea its probley real 8-D

  • @mangsanhanha I also saw it, it wasn't fake

  • awsome i wish i can see it in person be so cool

  • The Turbine overide brake actually failed, then a 400m exclusion zone was made.

The highest speed recorded that hit it was 57.89 mph.

That thing could of moved a ship or two!

But the blade control failed and then turned it fully im-pelled, making it self destruct.

  • what if one of those pieces hit you..dam

  • what does Miss.Obeservant 2009 mean? :L @DeepOceanRep

  • @AshleighBabees sarcasm - it means you're too stupid to read the description of the video - nothing hit it, the turbine was going too fast due to the wind speed

  • @magus424 well tbh i might be blonde but im not stupid :L sorry, i do enough reading at school thanks, i dont usually go on videos to look at the description thanks ;O so next time put it clearer so most people will actually read it.

  • look at the top of the windmill very closely you can see something fly at it

  • DANISH WIND TURBINS ARE THE BEST!!!!

  • obviously

  • Not supposed to spin at faster than 40 mph. They have a safety mechanism to prevent it from spinning faster.

The safety on this one failed, so it accelerated until it exceeded the stress point and broke.

  • Why put a wind turbine on a danish anyway? Before you know it, someone will put a paddle wheel on a quiche :P

  • @AirmanCylon401 Lol, it took me a few seconds, but I got it. Cracked me up.

  • @AirmanCylon401 nice one!

  • danish and their big lots wind mills, come on atleast go to walmart!

  • fucking terrorists...

  • @AshleighBabees

especially if you're going to go to the trouble of faking a news corporation have the fake organisation write a story and then linking it in the description.

  • no, it was snipping abnormally fast.

  • spinning*

  • @AshleighBabees read the description Miss Observant 2009

  • Would that be like the Chernobyl of wind turbines?

  • LMFAO!

    Dats a gud one!

  • becouse its emergency breaks faild and it went to fast

  • Why did this thing fly apart? Anyone know?

  • overspeed. all of them have brakes to keep speed at limits level, sometimes the brakes fail, so the results is that.

  • i think the wind threw the blades of balance and it hit itself

  • what happens when u go green

  • fuck that cood be dangores

  • Are you retarded? "Cood" You are so stupid. It's could

  • There goes 2mil. :)

  • At least the Danes make an effort at energy conservation.

  • @CHZPO3T1C

thats not conservation-- that is alternative energy- there is a difference.

  • hey that could give us lots of electricty

    by the way cool XD

  • til it blows itself up LOL

  • Where is the plane did it crash first then the motor got stuck on a pole. Lakeesha and Laronda wanted to know.

  • It Reminds Me Of The Teletubbies!

  • What speed was tip of rotor?

  • maybe about 500 600 km/h? ^^

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha awesome

  • what the fuck? whats funny about it?

  • you stupid fuckin Islamic wanker its so fuckin funny hope you were in the van yer a fuckin areshole oleedee wanker dont put shit on you tube if when you get a comment you dont like you cry like a little girl now fuck of you stupid retard

  • oh lol its you.

  • i think hes make in china :p

  • oh my god how have you got so many thumbs up for this shity racist coment? you cant even speak english

  • @busterkatty

It was made by Nordtank A/S (now Vestas) in Denmark.

  • @douro20 And it appears that we are one of the best makers of wind turbines ^^ and the failure.. well all products contains a fail now and then :b

  • At 0:05 you can see a massive impact in front of the truck - right as the millwheel explodes! This shows how fast the wheel rotated and how much energy can be set free by things which are flying off a fast-rotating axis! Very impressive and educational! 5* (sorry for my english! Even although English gramar is much easier than the German one!)

  • And a second later (0:06) the gear box flies out of the nacelle (the big black dot that hits the ground at 0:10 into the film). That piece of equipment is massive steel and usually weighs a few dozen tons...

Comment in class: If you see a system going into overspeed, run for the hills and call the service centre later.

  • så jo jævla trygt ut

  • I really have no idea what discussion you're in, but I solely agree with you - kinda.

You see, it can be said that most terrorists are muslims, but I choose to believe that the terrorists are fucked up in their heads. I myself is an atheist, and I don't believe in anything - but I would never look down on someone, or expect that a person is violent because of their religion.

  • danish craftmanship for the win :)

  • READY FOR TAKEOFF LULZ. KABOOOOM

  • Sygt I Hoved

  • yel freg du au fra det sog juleman gule

  • i flimed it my house are/was 100 m away from it

  • You are full of shit.

  • *halo narrorator*

    SUICIDE! lol

  • haha, a wind turbine that commits suicide when exposed to wind, i love it!

  • now the wings are more heavy and stronger.

now if it breaks of it gets trown in to space.

and lands on the other side of the world.

  • Wow! The turbine exploded!

  • Hellige Jesu moder det ser vildt ud!

Det var sku god de evakuerede lorted..

  • That's why windturbines have brakes! :D

  • saw this on destroyed in seconds, the brakes designed to keep it from spinning up failed.

  • This.

Its the same breaks and friction mechanisms that create the energy in the first place :D

  • WTF BOOM to much pressure on wind fan

  • heck these are supposed to stop if the wind gets to high.

  • metal tower just got cut in half wooot :P

  • Woaw. Imagine how much power it made.

  • Couldn't have been much.

  • god, theyre quite light, it sorta floated to the fround (sorta!)

  • FACK

  • Holy f*ck

  • wut the smoke at the bottom just befor it crashs

  • dirt? lol logic ftw

  • I believe that's an impact....

yup if u pause enough, one of the blades failed as it was coming down the right side, was starting to really breaking as it was at 7-8o'clk and was in pieces by 12o'clk.

  • oh ya i see it now...nice call

  • wtf???

  • After a piece of it broke off,did that thing cut itself off?

  • "nu skal i li holde øg med stumpern'" haha

  • yes he mean denamrk

  • i hate these ugly wind turbines. solar power is the answer. 1% of algerian desert sun can supply power for the world. solar energy is the source of all other energies viz wind/fossil etc

  • i wonder how many cities that one windmill could have powered for a few minutes hehe

  • for fuck's sake, that accident is not even funny for living beeings near to it when it explodes.

    gravestone:

cut in half by a fallen off wind turbine blade

    -.-

  • It appears Chuck Norris has entered Danishland.

  • Do you mean Denmark??

  • naw i think he means danishland

  • Nothing called Danishland ...

  • Danishland ????? Fail its called Denmark not like AMerica land

  • wow now that amazing right their

  • Wookie8343 perhaps because he can see that the wind turbine blades will spin much faster than they should be doing .. So he can see, they will collapse! That is why he is filming it DUMD ASS!

  • Fik du det thomas.

    Yes! :D

  • Worst case of wind I've ever seen. Get a grip guys!

  • i of course, smaller turbines can go much faster without breaking.

  • oops!! that was dangerous
