Man, I'd love to fly this flight some day. I believe theyre merging the Sydney and Melbourne flights now? so it's Sydney-Melbourne-(antarctic)-Melbourne-Sydney, I thought it happened first time in 2006-2007? or did yours just fly direct Sydney - Sydney? I still find it funny they use the Domestic terminal there. I believe it's treated as a "domestic" flight, even though it's 12 hours long :P,... though in the ATC system it would be YSSY to YSSY, like a Circuit :P just via S75 latitude.
We never landed in Antarctica. The entire event took place from the airplane. It was a 12 hour flight. It took 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to get back. Leaving us 4 hours of scenic flight over the continent at an altitude of about 10,000 feet.
It was 12:00 midnight there. The sun does not set in Antartica in the summer. Then in the winter it never rises. It is the same at the north pole in its respective seasons.
Hola amigo de donde a donde era el vuelo, Salistes de Sydney haci donde ivas cual era tu destino final para que volar sobre la Antartida

How do you get on these flights, is it something Quantas offers to anyone?
creez34 2 years ago
They are charter flights booked through Croydon Travel. They do a flight every New Years Eve and sometimes one in January or February.
