  • Hola amigo de donde a donde era el vuelo, Salistes de Sydney haci donde ivas cual era tu destino final para que volar sobre la Antartida

  • That's a really novel way to spend New Year's Eve. Thanks HoosierTim!

  • wow nice video thanx for sharig

  • Qantas has never crashed

  • r u aussie?

  • Nope, I am an American.

  • Which Australian airport did you fly from?(in the video)

  • We flew out of Sydney, Australia, we returned to the same airport 12+ hours later.

  • @hoosiertim Is any one living in that area??????

  • How do you get on these flights, is it something Quantas offers to anyone?

  • They are charter flights booked through Croydon Travel. They do a flight every New Years Eve and sometimes one in January or February.

  • does everyone on the plane have a window seat? i just came back from antartica last week and its smething everybody should do!!

  • nice. Qantas flies to Antarctica but it sucks just cruises around doesnt land :P:D

  • Qantas 744 with P&W PW4000 engines? This is the first one i saw!

  • I thought it was GE-CF6-800

  • this is amazing, great video.

  • s l e e p i n g - b e a u t y

  • does that flight gos to america

  • Man, I'd love to fly this flight some day. I believe theyre merging the Sydney and Melbourne flights now? so it's Sydney-Melbourne-(antarctic)-Melbourne-Sydney, I thought it happened first time in 2006-2007? or did yours just fly direct Sydney - Sydney? I still find it funny they use the Domestic terminal there. I believe it's treated as a "domestic" flight, even though it's 12 hours long :P,... though in the ATC system it would be YSSY to YSSY, like a Circuit :P just via S75 latitude.

  • nice one

  • that must be great in the summer no nights but after in winter no light in the summer time you have to get some extra light bulbs for the winter

  • Hey it's where I live! (not antarctica, but southern sydney)

  • i'm confused, did you basically just tour antarctica

  • We never landed in Antarctica. The entire event took place from the airplane. It was a 12 hour flight. It took 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to get back. Leaving us 4 hours of scenic flight over the continent at an altitude of about 10,000 feet.

  • So its a scenic flight in a 747?or were you fly by

  • did you go over the southern magnetic pole?

  • We flew over the southern magnetic pole shortly before arriving at the continent.

  • hey could you hear the atc on the flight

  • During takeoff we could.

  • thats amazing i bet i cost lots

  • Absolutley amazing video mate...that would have been the best new years ever...i love Qantas...keep up the good work!!!

  • Was it 12 A.M. and still daylight or did you celebrate New Year's with the Indianapolis Time Zone in mind?

  • It was 12:00 midnight there. The sun does not set in Antartica in the summer. Then in the winter it never rises. It is the same at the north pole in its respective seasons.

  • Is it that an avalance at 4:36?

  • No, there was no avalanche.

  • Wow! Antarctica is such a beautiful place.

  • Nice work Dude, Keep the pace going, do some more work like this!

  • Fantastic video. What a great New Year you must of had.

  • Thanks for sharing your NYE with us! :-)
