Mine worked great for a couple years, now no sound... Seems like everything else is still functioning but most of the time especially in the daylight hours your totally dependant on the sound alerts. Don't see myself buying another one.
veilguy, i recently purchased an xtr695se, and live in Australia. do you happen to know the most common bands found in my country, namely western australia? do i have to configure the XTR695se to suit, or will it work fine out of the box?
veilguy, I did my R&D and shopping around before I bought this detector. I had a Uniden model in the US, was 10 years ago & cannot remember which one. Now living in New Zealand, my experience is that they have a large number of speed cameras. I have watched a few of your videos and read quite a bit through your site. I did my research and feel like I made a well-informed decision, thanks for your help.
Is my 695se broken or something? It totally blows, literally 50 yards max range. When it goes off, the cop is usually on top of me. I even had a cop ON my bumper blasting me with KA and the detector only registered 5 out of 9. I saw a cop who pulled someone over writing a ticket with his radar still on, didn't go off until i was virtually passing him WTF! This video sounds just like a paid advertisement, complete bs; especially the fat guy who interjects even more praise.
Yeah, whatever you say. The fact is, Whistler's have yet to let me down in the real world. With such poor performance you claim you are experience, perhaps you would be well advised to reach out to Whistler's tech support, it's one of the best in the industry. Perhaps you have an issue with your particular unit. I would suggest you take that route first before publicly bashing this terrific detector.
Love whistlers have gone through 3 of them now, but they always fail when the speaker dies after a year or two. They have replaced 2 of my detectors now because their flimsy speakers always fail. Typical cheap junk. But id still buy one and just make sure my warranty is up to date!
mine caught a laser once through the windshield of the car in front of me i slowed down and as i went over the hill i saw the cops. sometimes you get lucky
What would you recommend the Whistler XTR-695 or Beltronics RX65? I saw both of your videos, and you love the Bel, but this one seems good also. Is one worth the extra money?
Nice review. I concur with everything you say veilguy. I have one of these models in Australia and for the price they are "Great" value. I love the signal ID and filter features on this detector. Go Whistler!

dissturbbed,
I would expect the Whistler XTR-695 to start shipping in about two weeks.
