  • It's called needle ice when ground freezes and pushes up little bits of dirt.

  • Ben Nevis is also Britain highest point.

  • @charlieiscool1000 I state that within the first minute of the video

  • 08:13 how bad is that? some twat littering... you can see a plastic bottle

  • @MrCyclesafe Yeah, it annoyed me too. I considered going down for it as I often pack trash out, but it was too steep for me.

  • @MrCyclesafe - sometimes bits of kit (including bottles) become detached. It happens. Ben Nevis attracts its fair share of dick heads tho to be sure.

  • 3:28 that is just gorgeous... do you know where that was?

  • @ChinoSouthsideX3 The small waterfall? It's the top of Red Burn just before you reach Lochan Meall

  • @DStaniforth Oye lad, thanks! ;)

  • many many years ago that used to be a volcano :)

  • @12345fuable oooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh, quite intresting.

  • really enjoyed the video m8 good job ! ;)

  • Thanks alot for this vid mate,my friend and I just recently got back from north wales after climbing mount snowdon. Our next challenge will be to climb ben nevis. This time we will take proper gear and try to get a little fit b4 hand as snowdon nearly killed us hehe thanks again

  • Does anybody know the name of the ice he shows at 7:00? =D

  • @MrPabloMartinI I managed to look into it myself and it's a type of needle ice and the process of moving the dirty upwards is called frost heaving

  • @DStaniforth Thank you!!! :)

  • Doing the 3 peak 24 hour challenge next year and your video of your journey up Ben Nevis is very helpfull Thanks for sharing Daniel

  • @1silvercrow1 I'm glad you found the video useful. Good luck with the Three Peaks challenge!

  • @DStaniforth why do they keep saying scotlands highest mountain when its the british isles highest mountain?i mean forget politics and nationalism when an alien looks down he sees britain not england wales and scotland it is one island that we share.

  • @september7891 I called it Scotland's Highest Point because I was doing a series on the three peaks and already had videos called England's Highest Point and Wales' Highest Point. In the video I say it is both the highest point in Scotland and the highest point in the British Isles. I think my approach was perfectly fair

  • @DStaniforth fair enough it was a very good and imformative piece you did very well done and what a beautifull place, whats more beautifull in your oppinion snowden or ben nevis?

  • @september7891 Hmm, Ben Nevis I'd say, but you've got to be pretty lucky to get it on a clear day!

  • @DStaniforth in lincolnshire or south humberside as it was called there is a village called horncastle, and between that place and grimsby is the lincolnshire wolds and the view is breathtaking and sometimes i wonder why people want to live like ants and sardinnes in cities.

  • I want to climb up this thing with my Uncle who's done the journey thousands of times

  • go for it , i did it last sept ,it was not easy ,but we made it ,crippling on the way down ,celebrate with a mcdonalds ,lol xx

  • Thanks for the video! I'm a Brazilian PhD student in Newcastle planning to take friends with me up to Ben Nevis this Easter Holiday! This video was really useful dude! Thanks again!

  • @Lima547 Nothing to do with the video, but do you know which is the difference between PhD and MD? I never knew, and I'm a medical student as well :)

Greetings from Argentina, the video is great! I've had a great time myself climbing Ben Nevis! =D

  • wow!

  • Beautiful. Added to the list of things to do if I ever make it to the U.K. Thanks, D.
