  • I for one don't mind paying the price for a "loan" of this kind to get my taxes DONE AND OVER WITH. The thing that makes me mad is when a group or organization come in and gets it stopped on my behalf. I would rather go in get my taxes done and be just that, DONE! Thanks for making decisions for me on my financial dealings.

    Refund anticipation loans are rip offs.

  • Are Refund Anticipation Loans Rip-offs? I suppose that depends on who you ask. They don't seem to make good financial sense, yet many taxpayers have no problem paying the fees.

    RAL's exist for the same reason that pawn shops and payday loan companies exist. There is a portion of the population that wants the service.

    Like the H&R Block employee said, if you want to end the RAL's, just get the refund back to the taxpayer in 2 days and pay the tax pro out of the refund.
