Facts, Cambodian never invade Thailand during the 14th-18th. Thailand invaded Cambodia. Cambodain, Siame(Thailand) and Cham(Vietnam) all wanted our land. The Khmer Empire fought during these time to defended all invaders. Much land was lost and now became Thailand and Vietnam. It like a never ending war. ive done quite a lot of research into muay thai/boran as well as having taken it a few years ago.
bokators history ive tried to research is quite sketchy but then its the same with muay thai. nothing really exact. muay thai does not have a lineage list that goes further then a few hundred years. havent been able to find a lineage list longer then master sean kim san. only evidence of its age is the reliefs in angkor wat.

This doesnt seem accurate in that lethwei predates bokator by 900 years (recorded during pyu empire) lethwei is also very similar to MT and bokator. MT, Bokator, Lethwei, Tomoi, Ling Lom are all martial arts originating from the style of fighting of the indigenous people. each nation then evolved it into their own style, but sharing similar attributes

There are some Japanese who don't agree that karate came from Kung Fu, or Koreans who deny that Tae Kwon Do came from Shotokan Karate, or Chinese who deny that Kung Fu came from India.

If bokator was used by the Khmers in the 11th century, it is impossible that it derived from Viet Vo Dao. The Viets were still living on a tiny territory south of China, while the Khmers were dominating SEA.

They won't say it to your face, but the white people as well as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Americans HAVE noticed that the Khmer in America aren't as successful academically, and have higher rates of gang memborship, lower socioeconomic status. Oh yes, our people engraved those warrior poses in Angkor from the ancient Viet arts long ago. It's well known throughout the martial world!

There are no ethnic Viets on the walls of Angkor. Those are the Chams, their kingdom was what is now south Vietnam. The ethnic Viets conquered them already. Look carefully, the poses they are in are submission poses, they're getting slaughtered by the ancient Khmers.

Hey momobena, I'm only going to say this once. I'm sure you're having fun with these responses people give you, but a good, decent person don't look down on anyone, no matter who they are. If you're just messing around I'm fine with, at least it give you something to do on the weekends. If you're just here to talk down to another group of people, that's just lame son. No other group of people have hit rock bottom and stood back up as hard as khmer people. That's something to be proud of son.

In fact the Angkor empire far predated the Thai and Viets. The Khmer are the indigenous people of south east asia. I respect your pride and uplifting words to our fellow khmer brothers and sisters but I feel that you should research our history a little further before you post such a bold statement. Awkun!

Momobena, the khmer empire covered a vast area of south east asia long before the Thais and Viets had their own territory. Our kbach kun khmer boran dominated on the battlefield which in turn allowed us to control so much of south east asia. Please my khmer brother research a little further in our rich history before you give the Thais and Viets credit which is definitely not due to them. Awkun!
