Just saw them a couple of weeks ago in Kearney, Mo...Van is still awesome.

Seen them with Cheap Trick, REO and Sammy Hagar..Shooting Star blew all off the stage. We miss you Gary...most underrated lead vocalist of all time.

I LOVE this BAND. I knew Gary, Van, Charles and the gang back in the day from SM South. Actually got to sit in for one recording session for 3 Wishes at Gary's studio in Olathe. Fished in his pond out back. Good times. Still see Van around town now and again. Wish Gary was back in the band but if you get a chance to buy Circles...it's a really good CD.

Under-rated album by the band. Shooting Star was a band that really was not appreciated by radio. Great live shows. Van played a great guitar and Gary has some great pipes. Real people making real music unlike today! Thank you for the post!

I agree. Midwest Rock at it's finest. I thought "Three Wishes" was just as good as their first two albums and as someone from KC, I always rooted for these guys and thought they should have gotten as much airplay as their AOR brethren back in the day. Saw them a half dozen times live back in the 80's and always enjoyed their shows. I saw them at a casino here last year and it just wasn't the same. It wasn't a bad show, though..............
