People hunt them if they have cattle or horses. The prairie dog holes are dangerous and cause the livestock to break their legs. Personally I think the dogs are adorable and I'd love to have one, and I'd hate to see them killed.

My prairie dog uses the catbox and sleeps on the pillow next to me. She likes to watch tv and knows how to roll over,speak and shake hands. My dog carrys her around in his mouth.

Any type of animal that's sold for pets will get abused in one way or another. Personally, I've known 3 pet Prairie Dogs in my life, and all were spoiled, pampered, well-loved things. I want one myself, apperently they make great pets. People just need to educate themselves on the pets they're getting before buying them. v_v I had no idea there was a ban until now.

Yup, in High School, I had a teacher from England who owned two as pets, and she'd bring them to class. Chili Dog was the one she brought most often. he was adorable. One of my best friends has one named Amy that he adores. i want one sooo bad. XD

That's a prarie dog. Cute little buggers, they're a large rodent th

at lives on the plains of the American southwest in large colonies called "Prarie Dog Towns." Here in West Texas, you can literally drive around the country and see giant colonies, with them sticking up out of burrows. they're really sweet, too. XD My science teacher had two for pets that she brought to class.
