I worked in the truck trade for a few years and no one ever used an Exhaust extraction on the trucks! The work shop was covered in this black Shit from injector changes, engine rebuilds and the usually blow turbo. But never heard of any mechanics getting lung disease.

it is possible to have no smoke moving around with the turbo pressure, but, having it its generally impossible to avoid in highly modified diesel engines.. it does not mean in any way that the engine is not working properly

About mentioned 4wd: Everyone can see that it has front wheel drive. It's Golf Kitcar with 1.9 l TDI engine, but it's very modified. It has FORGED crankshaft, camshafts... and a lot more powerful electronic....

the TDi Motor they use is only a slightly modified (mostly computer and injector)standard VW 1.9L TDi. From the mk4 Golf/Jetta/Passat. As for 4WD, I don't know for sure, but I think they use the Audi AWD Drivetrain in the Bosch Series.
