Very nice indeed, however I think it's a bit overpriced compared for instane to the new NaimUniti made by Naim. It costs about the same but comes with a nice CD-player build in, can also be used as a pre-amp but IS actualy a full blown amplifier that will drive speakers + subs and it even has a DAB and FM radio. Also network + WiFi is standard on the device. The touch screen and the iPhone app is nice, but you can have the iPhone/touch functions simply by connecting a Mac mini or any other Mac.
an amp would be what powers your speakers. a pre-amp is a bridge between your input (like a turntable), and your amp. The pre-amp boosts the signal of the input to the amp so you a get a stronger, clearer signal.
"Native" is more likely to mean the original sampling rate of the digitized music. Of course resampling won't make it better! Gotta admit that the touchscreen interface and network connectivity/iPhone control is damned nifty...

if u have an DAC and an amp u don't need a pre-amp
btw do u know the name of the song on background
even though from the recording i still can feel the spacious and break-taking of the singer, it sounds so gorgeously
