Awesome machine and vid! Where was this? Im used to seeing smaller dregdes on Lake MI. See tons of them dredgeing channels leading into small harbors.
There is rock in the bottom of a lot of the waters around NYC, I don't think a hydraulic dredge can suck up rock. And they can use the crane and barge for crane work as well as dredging.
my husband use to work on the tugboat "Brangus" he loved that boat would you know if it is still in service or where it is at

Why don't they use the dredges that have like vacuums and suck up the mud?
Instead of buck loads, thats to slow!
