NOT TRUE. It all depends on the shot. Where it hits, how close, and the ammo. .22 vs 30-06 vs broadhead arrow. I shot my bear at 20 yards with a bow and he ran 20 yards and died with in 30 seconds. I shot a deer with a .270 high powered rifle from 15 yards and he ran 50 yards because it was too close for such a high power gun it made a smaller hole than the arrow.

I will never understand why people whine when a hunter harvests an animal and eats it, but then they don't care at all when a butcher kills a cow for hamburger. The bear was shot out of a tree stand, FYI, we eat the bear meat, it gets ground up into hamburger and either mixed with deer hamburger (Deer meat is pretty dry) or gets consumed all by it's lonesome. Bear are part of the pork family and when you get over the fact that you are eating bear meat it is really quite good
