the reason I hate mariucci is because he pretended he was a Michigander. He's not a Michigander. He has no balls--no guts. Just a jerkoff from the UP who latched onto Wisconsin instead of the state he grew up in. I have no use for jerkoffs like that.

@hockeyfanredwings Do you live in the UP? Because Mariucci does a lot for the area and for various charities up here and is pretty well respected because of that. He's not somebody who abandoned the area because he left it.

Come on man, it's really not that horrible and not that hard to understand. First and foremost, the UP is ATTACHED to Wisconsin, hell it might as well be Wisconsin anyway like the state tried to do in the 80's when the LP introduced legislation to separate from the UP. But second of all...Green Bay is the closest real city to the residents in the entire western half of the UP. Some of us live 12 hours or more from Detroit, meanwhile it's a 2.5 to 3 hour drive to Green Bay.

@hockeyfanredwings So...what you're saying is how dare anybody like a team that isn't their home state team, even if they do live closer to that team and have more exposure to that team, etc. Got it. I'll just start ignoring the fact that I'm actually able to go to Green Bay games on the weekends regularly because it's a mere 3 hour drive away and instead start wining about how I can't go see detroit play because I'd likely need to get a plane ticket or take a few days off of work to do so.

@lamons71 He really is....I've said that once I go pro I would choose him as a coach...he just got a couple of bad breaks. Give him a team with potential and he can go places. I believe he would've take the 49ers far had Steve Young not gotten injured and forced to retire...

Shows how much you know. Mariucci had to deal with probably the worst GM ever, Matt Millen, and in SF he had Terry Donahue who didn't give a shit about what the 49ers were doing, and ended up firing him.

He brought us back to the playoffs 2 years in a row after a 4-12 and 6-10 season without Young and Rice. After those back to back playoffs appearances the dumbass Donahue fired him.
