yeah i loved the show i got both models of Seaview the double glass nosed and the single row windows the single one is from Moebius and is a little over 3 ft long i had fun putting her together
I think the first season of Voyage holds up as decent television Sci-Fi. This was before it got to be a "Monster of the Week" show. As a child I loved this show, and it the modest aim was to entertain, it succeeded.
Science fiction TV shows were very expensive. More so than conventional TV shows. The reasons should be obvious. Allen would be remiss if he did not work to keep expenses as low as possible. It is called Television.
Thanks, these actors made the mindless money-grubbing of producers like Allen into classic TV. Hedison and Basehart had to work like mad to sell this nonsensense to America and they did a a supurb job. I think the writers sneaked a few gems into it it as well.
Sure, 'kokujin', Irwin Allen virtually reused ANYTHING he could get his hands on at Fox- even his own props and sets- if he could save a buck, here and there. But he was SO skillful at doing it, you hardly noticed (?).
o yeah they have the series on Hulu

Wow. I used to absolutely love this show; even though the monsters on the show used to frighten me. Thanks for uploading these clips.

@ingravegreen The music may be available on The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen CD set.

@ingravegreen Ironically, Walter Pigeon, the original Admiral Nelson from the movie, died exactly a week later after Basehart.

Voyage movie was great. TV show was not. Like all Irwin Allen stuff it started out good and quickly deteriorated to junk.

The stop motion animated tentacle seen in the promo is actually stock footage borrowed from the movie, IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA.
