This show was ahead of it's time and should have lasted longer. The costume was awesome for it's time, especially being a TV show. I will agree with the guy who said the fight scenes looked kinda cheezy but all in all, it was a great show.

This show was great from the start, except.. I noticed that the fight sequences were very unrealistic, Flash punches bad guys without any power, with so much video editing and cutting, that he actually doesn't make a decent punch/kick at all. Apart from that, I enjoyed every minute of it.

I remember when this series first came out. It was too try and capitalize on the Batman movie of the time. Danny Elfman did the score also. Too bad the series only lasted one season. CBS put it up against The Simpsons, then they moved it from one time slot too another. Sometimes it was difficult too find the series. Glad it's on dvd now.

@vcga it was a TV series and this one is the pilot episode aired september 20,1990. this pilot is re-edited into a movie-length that was sold in VHS/DVD. but The Flash series only had one season with 22 episodes.

i should know coz i've followed the series as a kid.

Even some of the newer comic books aren't "cannon" to each other. They will always continue to change in order to be up to date with today's technology and social life so that readers are still able to connect with the characters in the stories. The TV shows and movies are basically in the same boat... but with a major difference. They're usually directed and even written by those that have never even picked up a comic book before in their life. FTR- I do agree with you... to some degree.

This was a pretty good show. The only thing I find a bit weird is the violence. Why doesn't he just punch the guy out at @2:00 instead of tornado spinning him up to a power line to be fried (to death?) then tied up. A bit evil for a hero?

So i finished watching the whole first episode, and am EXTREMELY greatful. This would have been the first TV show i watched, but it was too violent when i was a kid, and now watching it, it's awesome. The music is almost the same as Batman's theme, and the costume is perfect. Thank you once again

I realize these guys were riding on the coattails of Tim Burton, Anton Furst and Danny Elfman but still...HOLY GOD is this show amazing. One of the few visually impressive television shows ever made (along with Twin Peaks)

Wally's "goofiness" is limited almost to the JLA show. Wally's actually a pretty conflicted character, constantly having to carry the burden of Barry's legacy while holding his own. Barry, if anything, is actually the more light-hearteded the who's always doing far more with his powers of speed than any writers have ever attempted with Wally.

So this TV show doesn't seem to portray Barry at all, but it's not Wally, either. It makes me feel like it's a totally different guy altogether.

True to point. Wally is a tad cocky but when he needs to be serious he can be.

And in current comics Wally has kids (Bart and Iris) as well as the ability to enter the Speed Force and leave at will.

Either way the Flash is quite awesome. Hope they do a movie and do it good.

Actually they aren't Smallville was only used the ID thing as a nod to the comic books. Just like when Chloe thinks Lois should be a reporter in season 4 and Lois says that idea is just silly. And Bart isn't even Flash on the show. He is Impulse.

Loved this so much when it was on, need to get the DvD now. The punches look weak, cause he was punching at air in front of a green screen. They can do better now. True to form though, in the comic book, The Flash has to pull his punches against non-superhumans, or else he'd rip a person's head off going 300mph. The Sonic punch ain't no joke.

I remember watching this and bits and pieces from various episodes (when the show was preempted all the time) when I was a kid. I was so glad when it was released on DVD finally (still have the pilot episode on VHS). Good show that was unfortunately not given a chance (typical of any new and original show that makes the audience think or is slightly intelligent). Instead, we get reality tv crap year after year. BLEH!!!
