many people seem to make a lot of mistakes. computers use only base 2 numbers(0 and 1) and normal science uses base 10 numbers(0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9). the bit is a digitalized base 2 number. bits cand be described as rows of 0 and 1. to resolve the problem of very long numbers the byte was introduced(1 byte = 8 bits). so when you say 1kilobyte you say 1024 bytes not 1000(because 1 bit is a base 2 number, the byte is just 2 at power 3).

tengo mas de 15 años trabajando en Overclock de Computadores... y hardware genralmente... y eso claramente es un eror del programa... te lo digo porque los softwares no siempre te dan una lectura real de las velocidades en las que trabajan las cosas... por eso se trabaja overclockeando directamente en la BIOS... si quieres corroborar eso que te dije traba de overclockear directamente sobre la BIOS usando los parametros que te dio el software... y veras que sera imposible llegar a eso

I've done that many many years ago, well sure you can't trust the software if you have a 2.4GHz overclocked cpu and you see an 8GHz cpu.
P.S. Try to set the priority realtime and convert a wav file to an mp3(you'll get nice result :P). Anyway even with high priority you might see the 8GHz but it doesn't last for more than a sec
I believe all the readings are false including the fan speeds. The bug that made these false readings effectively seems to have made the MSI Corecentre software run slow and therefore report higher than accurate readings across the board.
Basically I have set SuperPi to run "Real time". It is a highly CPU intensive program and takes priority over other processing tasks including the MSI CoreCentre software. Thus the MSI software is not allocated enough time to process and keep up it's monitoring and is lagging. This is creating the abnormal readings as the CoreCentre software is mistiming the intervals and calculations based on the various motherboard readings it operates with.

It is not unlocked multiplier - read the thread - its a bug.
You should be able to get at least 2.5Ghz out of that chip with an Arctic Freezer Pro.
If you are bottlenecking try lowering your DDR Ram to 166Mhz as that will allow you to push the clock higher. When you up the CPU clock you up the DDR too so if you have 400Mhz RAM lower it to DDR 333 (166 x 2 in an AMD system) and that gives you the headroom to push the CPU base frequency higher
nooo ... a bug :D if I was going to get nitrogen I would buy an unlocked BLACK BOX AMD and really take off ... Would defo need a better motherboard for that though, my mobo and ram are the bottlenecks on this system.
Buggy . . . and dude I'd say you're not getting the full potential of your CPU and Ram if you're using Windows 98. It isn't very optimized for dual-cpus and it also doesn't support past 512mb of ram very well.
This is a bug of the program, those overclocking programs are not accurate and are wortless, do it in BIOS, my old ASUS A8N-SLI with AMD 64 3000+ did 11 GHz, so it's a glich.
U r noobs he set it to realtime so it does it n realtime its much faster so but sometimes really unstabel sometimes u need realtime for sound and graphix editing...

The AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 + is multiplier locked, so it impossivle it happen.
Repeat this procedure and the use CPUZ to monitor the frequency and multiplier.

Most ive seen out of those cores is 3.5Ghz.

nooo ... a bug :D if I was going to get nitrogen I would buy an unlocked BLACK BOX AMD and really take off ... Would defo need a better motherboard for that though, my mobo and ram are the bottlenecks on this system.

Buggy . . . and dude I'd say you're not getting the full potential of your CPU and Ram if you're using Windows 98. It isn't very optimized for dual-cpus and it also doesn't support past 512mb of ram very well.

This is a bug of the program, those overclocking programs are not accurate and are wortless, do it in BIOS, my old ASUS A8N-SLI with AMD 64 3000+ did 11 GHz, so it's a glich.

50C isn't that hot 70-60C is hot if u idle at 50C it may be a little worm for me my cpu idles at 29C :P

i have a AMD X2 4200+ Dual-Core
which i got it to like 2.5 which is kinda hot without water cooling but i put in a aweosme zalman CPU fan which does an awesome job but at start ups the OC just heats up to fast haha but it doesnt do any damage butsome time you miss the beep soo you just restart not a big problem
but if your ganna OC a CPU use a awesome watercooling
which if i had it i can get it to like 3.0 but i like the stock 2.2

I have that the Athlon 64 x2 6400+ black edition also, im going to add some better cooling (liquid) and im gonna see where it will take me - it says he has a cpu fan running, but he has to have something better (i've seen cpus get to 700 F because of stuff like this (they started melting the motherboard)
