  • They have to make this studio version

  • kee plays the solo very better in the intro i remember there's a pinching in the last part

  • This song is power for me . I love it!

  • where it was//? nice sound &equipment.

  • 1 and 1/2 tone down.... Joey's voice isn't perfect at all.... do you know what I mean?

  • @urbancasbah 14 later and older... do YOU know what this means??? ;-)

  • @MidnightMasque of course....I just answer to 26 people who votes the comment about the so called perfect voice of joey.... there are many singers who sing their songs in the original tone. In fact, Heart of stone sounds so bory in this politically uncorrect C sharp.... but this is just my own opinion.

  • best of the best!!! muy buen tema,,muy buena interpretacion desp de varios años despues de ese disco!!!! :)

  • It's an awesome song and one of my Europe favorites however he could have made an attempt to look like he was actually singing in this one instead of pulling a lip sync because it's freaking obvious.

  • @nmalthus Joey is not pulling a lip sync, he is actually singing !!! This is a part of their soundcheck before the 2004 Hammersmith concert in London, I have it on DVD, in the bonus material. It only looks like he is doing a lip sync, because the video isn't synchronized well.

  • dom svenska gubbarna från Upplands Väsby rockar röven!!härligt!

  • There are 4 idiots..

  • Amazing solo to this day!!

  • @tkerbuster This Fucking Europe!!

  • always my fav song from the F. countdown record!!

  • is great

  • the chorus has been stoel from Rainbow's Lady of the Lake on Ling Live Rock'n'roll

  • @zappator There's a slight similarity, but I definitely would not say 'stolen'

  • That solo blows my mind every time I listen to it.

  • Don't like the lower key. WTF? We pay attention to these things Joey! lol

  • excellent playing and his master guitarist John Norum and joey tempest 's been almost no sound, treble can not say, Where's that old tone ... this song note by note in the dollar had attracted sharp ...

  • Damn..They got Heavy..Great mix too, everything up front w/Just enuff Synth Hold'n it down.Leven's Got a Massive Bottom Going Here Strat or Les Paul..You KNOW It's John Norum Killin that thing! Thanks for this.

  • The video is a bit out of sync with the audio

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!europe is back and more powerfull than ever

  • @Calfullanas Exactly -They have always been fantastic and They´re back just as awesome as ever :-)

  • one of my fav songs from the final countdown record!

  • Everything is in a lower key, the guitars, the vocals and the bass, to make a more "heavey sound" / a more mature sound. Has nothing to do with Joyes abilities as a singer.

  • even if has something to do.... f*ck it! they sound terrific!

  • Haha, well, you can't claim that it has NOTHING to do which the original pitch being high....I mean, everyone lowers the pitch, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and it does sound heavier, but it also makes it easier on the vocalist....But whatever, Tempest still sounds great, and so does the band, and that's what matters!

  • how people can compare Joey with Blackie L., Steven Tayler or Bon Jovi.... Yoey by time kept or improved his voice and still sings like a rockstar!!!!!!!!

  • GENIOS ,..!!

  • Gee, this song sounds better than in 1986.

  • Don't forget this was just rehearsal. At the concert of this day Joey sung very well from the opening. You can see other videos on YouTube about Europe's live of this day at Hammersmith in London.

I think his voices in these days are more heavy, manly and sexy than his twenties.

  • Indeed.!

They're back and better than ever...

  • Europe is getting stronger than 80s.

  • EUROPE IN CHILE

    THE GREAT!!!

  • This is sooo good. Europe NEVER disapoint me

  • Anyone know where I can purchase and download this version of the song?

  • Its from DVD Live from the Dark, so i guess it should be on Amazon, or something like that

  • Comment removed

  • my favorite song for a long time.nice voice

  • 39000 th viewer

  • Great! I have this on DVD!!!

  • Steven Tyler ;)

  • Blackie Lawless!

  • he kind of lost his ability to sing the way he did in the 80's

  • Indeed, it's sad =/

  • are you conscious 'bout your sayin'...ability??...it's a nosense...maybe you cry now like 20 ys ago????

..everything is constant except change..(Europe dixit)

  • ok first of all. I have no idea what you just said. second, i can't cry now like 20 years ago because i am only 14.

  • ok...don't worry about joey's ability...an' on your page it's reported age: 20.... I don't care but that's it...

  • lol, my sister actually made this account. She put 20 for unknown reasons

  • You can't avoid that... Joey Tempest has 45 years old. But with detuned guitars and new arrangements, this song rocks the same way or more than 23 years ago.

  • Well, he has been touring for over 20 years, and the voice becomes a bit older with time, but he's still good, right?

  • Ya, i would say he is still good. Just cant hit all those notes like he used to. It is inevitable though. Happens to lik every singer

  • Yes indeed ...with the exception of Freddie Mercury.

  • This is a so good song!!!

  • i love this song...!!!!!!!!!!! so much...!!!!

  • j'adooooooooooooree cette chanson!

    Joey tu me fais craquer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love it

  • Gillar den "Mognare" Rock Europe levreraroch sr med spänning fram emot det nya album som är påväg.

    Rock on gubbar!

    A

  • Great, gritty sound! Anybody know what amp John uses?

  • That's pure Marshall tone. A JCM800 2205 50 watt model through 4z12 cabinet(s) to be exact. Although I'm not sure what speakers he has in those cabs.

  • Wow, thanks!

  • You're welcome. I agree with you, John has great tone in this video.

  • One of their best songs \m/

  • I fucking love Europe, and Joey too!

  • Europe we thank you that us you then remind the old good season the 80s, where we went school.

  • Great great great 80's rock song. Great performance, great vocals!!!!

  • i agree, they should play older songs like "stormwind" or "open your heart" more...

  • this is my favourite song from these guys .i love the solo john norum is a great guitar player on of the best ever.but i like his solo albums more than with europe, more harder guitar riffs.i hope europe release another album in the next time. so that i can see them live on stage again.they should play more songs from the earlier albums on stage live, like from europe or wings of tommorow album( thats my favourite album ever from europe)they should re recording this

    they are great musicians.

  • 50 tonos mas abajo.... pero vale. Buen tema.

  • no matter how fast or slow they make a song they always seem to find a way to have a kick-ass solo. and they ALWAYS have amazing vocals

  • jest super ,uwielbiam ten utwor.eurpoe for ever.

  • Joey's voice is perfect. Everyone in the band is talented and professional musician. plus they're cute and good-looking and friendly to fans....==> Europe's been one of the best bands ever, no matter in the 80's or now or the future!!

  • aaah always perfect, Ian - best drums ever

  • Ian....can't agree more

  • Europe always has been rocked!

  • europe were underated musically in the 80s coz of their "commercial" rock. the songs were always great but are now appealing now theyve bin heavied up a bit

  • John Norum kicks ass on guitar. Love the new stuff from them! Very heavy and melodic. Wish they would tour the U.S.

  • I think in the 80's Europe used to suck, but there, 2004 I think they became pretty good. Heart Of Stone sounds now much better than years before to me.

  • in the 80's they were good to!

  • Sound check - 15 november 2004, Hammersmith Apollo London UK, 37th concert on Start from the Dark Tour. Taken from the DVD "Live from the Dark"

  • I was in high school during the 80's Hair Band era.I feel Europe was totally underated as musicians in the 80's. This Video will attest to their talents!!!

  • I was a freshman in 87 and TFC came out and people went nuts over it but that was it. I started looking for other stuff of theirs and found Wings of Tomorrow. I think there was too much hype over TFC, that hurt them, even though I love that song. But it got SO big they could never match it again.

  • nice song!!!

  • love this song! And this is better than the original.

  • I love the this heavier version of the original, they've only got better, carry on lads.

  • Ahh! Yes! Now this, is better than the album version... in my opinion. I just watched this as John Norum solo but this is better... The John's guitar is still in your face but Joey's voice is there and the rest of the band! I LOVE IT!

  • wow de todos los solos que escuche en mi vida es el mas zarpado tiene 8 partes distintas seguro que tom era fanatico de este tipo........::!!!!!!!!

  • muito bom!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing!
