@CastinCouchnCatwalk anyone can do it... i never thought i could... but my hair is longer and healthier then this.. better then it has ever been in my adult life... i just followed a few simple rules... and learned a few techniques...
@makingfamous How did you get it like that? Like what rules did you follow? Can you inbox me please. Because my hair is SOOOOOOOOOOO damaged right now that if I even go near it with a straightner, it will probably all fall out. I had to cut my hair really short because of the damage, but it's still breaking and dry...and brittle :S
@alexasy4 ~now... no... at the time... this was "longer" hair for me... It did eventually break off... I believe from too much heat exposure, and not enough moisture... Now I only flat iron, maybe once a month, or twice if I have to do something or go somewhere that requires it.... It might be burning off your bangs.. How often do you flatiron?
@varietyfan505 ~honestly idk... because I had plenty of hair when i was using heavy greases like blue magic...I think it can totally depend on the type of hair you have and how healthy it is.... I know plenty of ppl on their hair journey who use grease to seal in moisture... but I also know that improper use can dry the hair out... I have a few greases that have topical agents in them that increase growth... I guess it all really depends on the product....
Hey. I am a boy with long boy hair, and I want to straighten mine. Is there any way to make it look sort of like a manly straight hair? Btw, your hair looks pretty. :D
@rjwarda ~ Thanks for the compliment, love... If i were you i'd wear it straight with little or no bend... you know just a really sleek straight look...
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
@candykissezz135 yes I did... I made this video back when I wasn't as educated about hair as I am now... It's really not a great guide for what you should and shouldn't do... it'll probably be coming down sometime soon...
@TheRealDealMegPajibo No... I don't consider myself mixed... I mean like one of my great grandparents was a native american... and like most black ppl in america, I'm sure there is some white blood running thru....
@CierraKisses You're right... I don't use grease anymore... but I definitely need more then shine serum... You know grease never keep my hair from moving...I guess it's all in the amount you use...
@Restarea11019V Well... if you are really having issues combing your natural hair you might want to invest in a good detangler... that you can use to loosed/soften your curls so that you can comb your hair with ease...
@sadeeebby lol! I wasn't being a smart ass... I'm sure you can... I don't claim to be a professional... If you would like I can put a link in my video for you if you would like...
@exxtreem23 Well... I grew it... I just took care of it and it grew and i retained the length... Also all black women don't have afros... we as a ppl have a variety of hair textures... And at the time of this video I had no idea what wild growth oil was...and I still don't use it....
If you have any questions please feel free to respond...
@kelbylovesspugs you probably need to switch up the products you are using... and add a few few more deep conditionings...and you should come away from the tangled frizziness....
@MzCloey16 oh...girl... I thought you was asking me...I was about to say hair that covers my head is good... cause technically if you use black ppl definitions of good hair...i don't have it...
@briannanadesuwa it could be a couple of reasons... but let me first say... mine isn't flawless either... nor would I want it to be... ok so it may be that you have shorter hairs in the crown of your head which may be from a variety of things...it could be that you shed more hair from the crown...or it could be that the hair isn't trained to lay down like you may want...
You probably could use a little non-greasy pomade or something to help smooth the hair down... HTH!
@callmeblackmail96 Well at the time i just keep a lot of grease in my hair... i deep conditioned regularly...stretched my perms (i think i was about 14 weeks post relaxer in this vid....).... and i wore my hair in a bun if ponytail usually after the third day... then i'd wash between the 7th and 10th day... and do it all over again... Hope that helps...
Does any1 know about Japanese thermal straighteners on AA hair? I'm mixed and I'm curious to know because just regular relaxers damage my hair and my hair is thick and curly
@PatteeAngela a curly perm would work on our kind of hair... a jehri curl is a type of curly perm... but you should know that once you get a curly perm you cannot use relaxer over the curly perm...it will break your hair off...
I'm a firm believer in the fact that things that work for me don't necessarily work for others....
But I think in the case of flat ironing everyday...I wouldn't... Just cause direct heat is very damaging to the hair...
I flat ironed my hair everyday...for awhile and my hair reacted horribly.... I think I ended up cutting two or three inches off by the time I was done with that...
Maybe you should look into curly styles that require less maintenance...
i like your hair it looks so healthy but how do you keep it smelling nice during the week i'm using the sulfur also but when i'm wearing it in my hair smells a bit strange.. and do you only apply it on your scalp or also in your hair
Currently I'm using You Straight Heat Protectant...Sulfur 8...Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil....Extra Virgin Olive Oil...and Luster Pink Oil Moisturizer....and 100% Aloe Vera Gel for Ponytails...
ur hair is very beautiful but i wouldn't recommend using products with mineral oil, such as hair grease, because mineral oil clogs the pores of the scalp causing slow hair growth, scalp acne, and other scalp conditions. Also, mineral oil blocks moisture from penetrating the hair shaft so it actually dries out your hair. Lastly, mineral oil is carcinogenic which means that is has been proved to cause cancer. Just a suggestion!

they have things similar to grease thats like a heat protectant pomade...you know....? just tryin to help...you are literally fryin your hair mama...they have smoothing products that loosing your curls and seal your cuticle for a smoother look and keeps your hair straight.
But I have a very sensitive scalp...and somehow it helps...plus it makes your hair grow like crazy...one time i was using it and dr. miracles hot gro together... my hair grew like crazy....
