@carbinfibre Considering its only 1080P resolution I would say x3 GTX 580's but making sure you have a good enough PS and case airflow. Either choice there is overkill on any games (except metro which is badly optimised in my opinion) at that resolution x3 GTX 580's would just blast games away only do it if you have the money though because it is slightly wasted money in a way considering x3 580's are usually used in 5670x1080 resolution 3 monitor gaming or extreme resolution monitors.

Did you overclock your cards? Is your processor being liquid cooled by an external liquid cooler or internal. Im asking this because imma get an internal liquid cooler (corsair h70) and i was wondering if I could reach 4.6 ghz with it... Also do you think it is absolutely necessary to have liquid cooling on ur cards if ur gonna have a 3x sli gtx 580? @tercac Dude, no. Don't go with a 980x now, it isn't needed for games. Get an i7 2600k, it's actually went head to head with the 980x, and it's $700 less.. That much money you could save, or fund a 4th 580.

I saw you used 16 X Q which is what Nvidia uses. Quincux Anti Aliasing blurs the textures and lowers the overall visual quality of the game but gives better AA results than for example MSAA. On top of that Nvidia's AA methods are inferior to ATI's methods. 16 X Q on nvidia = 8 X MSAA on ATI. so technically if you were to compare this bench to a 4 way 5870 or dual Asus Ares it would count has 8 X AA :)
