What he means is he is taking a break from editing I guess. Hiatus is mostly just getting time but usually it doesnt mean not editing for awhile but thats what lots of people say it like so I guess its another way to put it.

Yeah and when I did start a video I would just end up forgetting about it, and lose what inspiration I did have...
