  • OMG this is so racist because you are blocking out there faces with BLACK squares. LOL JKS u americans think a black brick wall is racist. the frigging act wasn't even racist and why the hell are the faces blocked out anyway?

  • LOL, that is SOO Funny Blacking out the Blackend FACES HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • using black out on black faces well done einstein

  • Mark Jackson was a pretty good point guard in the NBA but I don't understand why he needed a tribute like this dedicated to him.

  • @imbobsaget Mark Jacko Jackson is also a sporting personality here in Australia. He's a different Mark Jackson to the one you know. Played Australian Rules football before turning to acting and Energizer batery ads lol. He wasn't much of an actor either lol.

  • hahahaha made my day

  • lol

  • Australia has far more different ethnic groups then US. there its 'black, white, latino, asian jew.' A few more groups are in the world. So then by US standards..Papau New Guineans, Fijians, Maorais, aboriginals are NOT black? US classes slave descendents as the only blacks in the world...even 'African Australians' and aboriginals here NOT offended..but I guess US history is Australian? You can't even name your allies and build mosques at 9/11?White guy offended for US blacks..ONLY IN USA!

  • @TheAnnlaw, you nasty "allies" would find ANYTHING you could to hatemonger on Americans about. Shut the fuck up already.

  • No, NO! You've just made it even worse!!! :-P

  • HOW DARE THEY USE "BLACK" BOXES!! THATS RACIST!!

  • 1 of the jackson jive people were indian and the rest were from multicultural backgrounds. But let's jump on the stereotypical bandwagon and presume they were all white! That is disrespectful in itself i you presume that! It is not racist, people think they should feel offended because everyone else is pretending to be hurt. Fuck, I didn't sook up when I watched White Chicks on TV a couple of weeks after this show!

  • Typical American,

Point 1, Australia never had a history of using 'blackface' humour or satire; It's an American thing. Therefore Australians never developed that 'blackface' humour is wrong because we never had that style of entertainment in the first place.

Point 2, The people who were dressed in 'blackface' weren't white.

Point 3, An American calling an Australian racist is extremely ironic or a country which has a history of slavery.

    Dear people from the U.S.A.

The world thinks your a joke

  • "At first, this video was named "Censored version for Americans", but clearly that was a stupid thing to call it. At the time, I figured the Americans were the only country who have retaliated against this skit."

That's a racist generalisation right there. Kinda like those who say "All Australians are racist" in response to this.

  • @thatrsdude Okay, it offends all the ex-slave trading nations who used black face to denigrate niggers. "Nigger" the word you made unspeakable because of your racist acts. So you should all get together and have a group hug, because now you have an adversary you can use as a scapegoat to waylay the grief of your past atrocities.

Fight hard against the non racist people and make them racist, okay. From political scapegoating you can transfer your wrongs and make all people see black v white, wow

  • @bowtomonkey You sound like Damon Wayons' that retarded convict Oswald Bates on "In Living Color".

"Do you gesticulate the ramification of my colon to internalize the structure..."

  • Oh you big "Politically Correct" Sooks ! go and have a cry about it you big babys. They were taking the piss out of Negros, So What?

  • LOL at this.

  • how fucking stupid..... BLACK out there faces fucking cry babies.

  • TheSmacca i find that the crotch thrusts to be offensive, could you take down the video and replace it with one that has been censored... and please don't use any colour that can appear on skin when picking the colour of the boxes, i also find that offensive

  • lol, thats clever with the boxes, but maybe people find the black boxes offensive.

  • @TheSmacca

You just blocked sylviekloot (A Japanese nationalist), which is nice because he has blocked every one who disproves his propaganda.

  • blacked out faces i find that offensive to the skit...

  • They allow swearing, penises and breasts on tv, but they now censor people with black make up on their face. What has political correctness come to?

  • This didn't go to air with black boxes over their faces.

  • soon its going to be law to be a gay,a tree hugger and a vegetarian

  • I have mixed feelings about this skit but if MJ's family was ok with it then just drop the issue. I respect everyones opinion but this has just crazy. I'm black and I want to live in australia one day. I hear a lot about racism there but I just want to experience it 4 myself. If any of u aussies have any advice for me to know about your country then u are more than welcome 2 tell me.

  • @keshalashay

We have NOTHING against blacks and in fact, the media we get from America portrays blacks very well, and you would be popular because of the way that you look.

That said, we see the trouble with black ghettos in America and the UK and if want to start fights etc people will jump on you very quickly because as it stands we don't have ghettos or any places you shouldn't go at night.

Since you are American, people will assume you are used to our ways and help you adapt.

  • @TheSmacca

If only Pabank could be blocked YT wide~

  • @GoobinOut

pancakhead has 100's of user ID's, so you tube can't block him, not even his IP number, as he is part of an organization and they are sophisticated enough to get past any kind of blocking.

  • With the Black 'boxes' on their heads. It looks exactly the same

  • you idiots calling this racism do realise that every one of these performers was of different race, I dont think there was actually a white guy among them...so yeah its totally racist... it was all a bit of fun, and they did it as a tribute to michael jackson, so just get over it, im sick of all this political correctness crap trying to take over everything about our society

  • I think the whole thing was in bad taste. Its like mocking all Italians as being Mobsters many will be offended because so many are hard working people who obey the law.Or mocking Indians as being terrorist ,Chinese as being cat eaters, whites as smelling like wet dogs & all being undercover homosexuals.I say let it go because they were sorry & life goes on.

  • JACKSON JIVE FOREVER!!!

  • your comments about the show and audience are only seen as ignorant by australians because you dont know what the show is like.. the audience boo every time the gong is hit..

We arent defending the act in itself.. we are defending our name.

when everyone stops discriminating against the whole of Australia.. then their words may have more credibility.

  • walterego.. the facts are.. australia has racism, like every other country in the world.

We are simply defending ourselves as any country would do under such vicious labelling.

you have never lived in australia, you dont know the country or the people living in it.. and i can tell you now.. watching 2 minute clips on youtube does not make you well informed.

  • The show itself is racist too, as is the studio audience, laughing and clapping along with a blackface minstrel dance, booing when they get gonged. When any person (of any race/nationality) who can empathize with black people would be repulsed and cringe to see that.

Ausses need to stop defending this racist crap, they sound like they're from a different century, and are creating a bad impression of their country when they insist that its just harmless aussie humour.

  • SMACCA your a legend!!....can you please post more censored clips....I still cant stop laughing!!!!

  • Covering their faces doesn't make it less offensive. We all know what was done.

  • LOL Smacca! It just keeps getting better. Let the Aussies continue to have a good laugh at the world's dysfunctional family, and the Americans get back to sorting out their race issues.

  • Australian racism is the issue here, especially the fact that even though this is clearly racist, the majority of australians are too racist to recognize it as such. Deal with it: if you had a "good laugh" at this video then you are a racist. Simple as that. Because I work in comedy, & I can tell you the bit isn't funny at all, except for the exaggerated racial features & shuck & jive dancing, which will amuse racist people. Whereas if you empathize with black people then you cringe seeing this.

  • tell me why people arent bothered with the last guy that came on with white face paint????? thats not racist??? im white and i know that im not that white in my skin. The last guy offended me deeply and i might go have a cry and ask darryl sommers for an apology.

get over it. they never meant it to be offensive to african americans. And thats all who are offended- african-AMERICANS(+ some little white guy)

  • Of course you're not offended by whiteface, nobody is. Because whiteface doesn't demean white people. Blackface clearly demeans all people of African ethnicity, not simply black americans. The "Jackson JIVE" didn't intend to offend? (BS, even their name is somewhat offensive) That's what they say now in the hot seat, they rationalize. Ausses give them a pass, because they think racist humour is funny but don't want to admit their own racism, even to themselves.

  • It isn't only blacks who are offended, people with decency and integrity are offended. Not too long ago we treated blacks like sub humans and that was only a few years ago, no I do not find it funny. To show something like that & not expect any repercussions is ridiculous, what are your people thinking with. Obviously, the elevator does not go all the way to the top.

  • australians didn't treat blacks as sub humans.. infact, of all the racism in australia.. skin colour would be the last on the list.. we spend ours at the beach so we can have darker skin

  • Australia had exported many aboriginal corpse to europe during aboriginal holocaust.Aussie had earned much money.

now australian govet wants 2 hide this facts so they are taking back those scull,

bone and corpse from european museum.

prob u didn`t seem to learn the proper

    history :D

  • i don't quite understand how your comment references mine, it may also be partly to do with the fact you prob didn't seem to learn proper english..

if you are referring to the first comment, i was actually referring to african americans, as black face is what began this whole conversation, i actually don't refer to aboriginals as blacks. i think you actually missed the point of my comment

  • @Drons96 You absolutely know there was no aboriginal holocaust, but you infer Jewish hardships onto Australia as propaganda.

Yes, aboriginals want a few skulls brought back. They were taken for science because aboriginals are primitive and therefore interesting.

This is not unusual, but aboriginals place high importance on there dead ancestors bones.

As always, they usually get what they want (usually big $'s), which is more than the Ainu people, who get nothing - assuming you are Japanese.

  • 16/10/09. Breaking Yahoo news: Louisiana JP refuses to marry mixed race couple. This is why america has black face and why australia does not. Americans projected their black issues onto an innocent skit which had nothing to do with race as australians had never heard of blackface. It's not a part of their culture or reality. It's a part of America's reality for obvious reasons. Let's hope there will never be a need for black face political correctness in Australia.

  • It was offensive because MJ was lighter than all his brothers and plus he was a plastic surgeon was another slap in the face. Don't forget this young man just died and his family is still grieving, it is about respect. Respect for a family whom the US holds in high esteem. If a leader of an Indian nation died & they painted their faces brown and put towels around their heads, wd not they be offended. My God it wd have caused riots. What were these drs thinking, if they were thinking at all.

  • The Jackson family said they weren't offended as they knew the performers weren't trying to be disrespectful. But I'm sure your just the impromptu spokesperson. MJ was a great man no doubt - but he wasn't a leader of a Indian nation, he was a pop star....

  • I cringed. Cannot believe it is 2009 and people still don't get it, unbelievable. .

  • There's nothing to get ... move on dude it's 2009 racism belongs back in the 60s, now we just make a mockery on how stupid segregation really was......... now go take a drink from the whites only water fountain.........

  • I was being sarcastic when i said nothings changed...cause they still look the same with the black boxes covering there faces.....

  • i think this makes it more funni

  • This is racist towards black blockheads!

  • i dont think this video makes Australians look bad more the majority of it populace on youtube telling all what to be and not to be offended by

  • THIS IS SO INSENSITIVE AND EXTREMELY RACIST AND INSULTING TO THE BLACK AFRICAN - AMERICAN POPULATION. How is this supposed to be CENSORED!!!!! when this is exactly the same as the original skit...........nothings changed!!!

  • lol Jeanluc harden the fuck up

  • the Americans were the one most upset by this. Not very many Aussies were not were upset, as they saw this for what it was, and it was not racist or mean.

  • Haha funniest thing i have seen all day.

  • glamberson - how does an MJ skit evoke memories of a civil war?

The topic of this skit was a tribute to MJ, it is most definitely being taken out of context.

It was not meant in a derogatory or racist manner. Could it be seen as being racist when someone interprets it that way?

  • I know about blackface and not once did it enter my mind that is what they were trying to portray. Now the whole of the USA think we are all just racist halfwits which is not right. We can't all be placed in one basket and labeled the same. I don't give a shit what colour a persons skin is. This is also the first comment board where there is no slagging off about each others countries which is very adult of those who have already posted. There is no need to resort to crap like that.

  • haha pretty funny video to lighten everyone up a bit..good work! :-)

I think GenY have no idea why the Blackface skit was inappropriate. Also, the idiots at Channel 9 must have approved it during rehearsals and preparations. I smell a rat..I think it was a PR stunt. Gees I think it worked! Now everyone across the world will want to watch Hey Hey!!!

  • That is Ageism joeyeggy.

Where did this "blackface skit" name come from. Clearly the name of the skit was Jackson Jive.

Could it be that they are the racist one for seeing this simple skit as being racist?

When I saw this skit, racism never came to my mind, just bad acting. It wasn't until the next morning on the radio that I realised how big an "issue" was being made from a JACKSON FIVE skit.

    Build a bridge

What about Rodney Rude or Kevin Bloody Wilson? They definitely aren't racist....

  • exactly, I thought the same, wasnt really funny just bad acting, but for some reason it turned into this huge international racist story. I saw it as a tribute to Jackson 5 and MJ but some people have taken it the wrong way......

  • Good lord a tribute, what wd you do for the Queen then?

  • Dress up like Elton John I imagine

  • type blackface into wiki

  • read about "Blackface" at Wikipedia..then you will see its true meaning & why it should be forbidden.

  • I know what blackface is.... THIS WAS NOT A BLACKFACE SKIT.

    This was an MJ skit.

As I said before. DROP IT.

  • LOL. Kiss my ass.

  • totally agree pyromaniak87. anyone who thinks this is racist needs to grow a sense of humor.

  • i 2nd that :)

  • The Americans just don't get it. YOU ARE MAKING this racist. Focus on the context.... They were doing an MJ rip-off, not insulting black people by painting their face. If they came out as anglos trying to be MJ, it would upset the Americans that they were all white... Why is it any different???

If a black person painted their face white, would the world be pissed off??? NO

    Drop it FFS -

PS - Im and American living in Australia.

  • very well said

  • @pyr0maniak87, oh goodgawd, relax.

  • @ShaytanBozorg well and truly relaxed.

  • @pyr0maniak87 You know Aussie culture then.. Racist culture!!

  • Thats CLASSIC!!! how ever I cant tell the difference....still looks the same.......

  • I don't think belittling an American's disapproval of something that evokes memories of racism that killed a significant percentage of our population in a civil war and has not yet ceased causing great pain to us is very smart.

In fact, yes, I'd say it's moronic. And pathetic.

  • I don't think labelling a entire country racist for a light hearted skit, performed by non anglo australians, who didn;t know the mid 19th century context which makes it racist is very smart. In fact it makes every dickhead who wants to whinge about it pathetic and moronic. We can't help if something we do in a completely different context is taken to offend others. These guys said it was a tribute to MJ and had no idea (as most australians wouldn't) about the use of 'blackface' in the 1800s.

  • Well said Legend.

  • excellent! stick it to those people who can't even listen to the words from the man himself....it doesn't matter if your black or white!!!! he he oow!!!"

  • Amazing Censorship Soviet Socialist Russia style.
