crank the ds-1 and I have the settings at noon on the clean channel on the tsl 100. or I might tweek the settings according to my own personal taste. But I put the HM-2 first than I have the DS-1 to the amp. And of course my NS-2 so I don't go nuts with feedback when I don't want it.
This is such a versatile pedal. I've gotten killer thrash, death, and doom tones out of it. Right now I'm experimenting with the Swedeath buzzsaw tone it's so famous for.
Somehow youtube erased my reply, anyhow: just turn all knobs to 11 and plug it into the right amp. I think they used Peavey Bandits at Sunlight but Ive gotten good results with ss marshall combo amps and marshall tube heads! Have fun :)
Yeah, I've found how to do it and all--just tweaking it to make it sound better. In addition to having everything cranked, it's gotta be added to the amp's distortion. I think I just need a different distortion, since I've got a Vox VT100 and their amp distortions are... Less than impressive, we'll say.
I think 5150's were pretty popular at Sunlight as well.
I have no problems with it. Stays in tune and all. You can take off the whammy bar easily cause it has one of those washer? caps that locks it in place. The only issue I have with it is the bar is angled too far away from the guitar for my taste. I can send you pictures if you want.
@philipkatsotas : would i recommend it? sure, for the price it's good. click on "more info" on the right hand side, there's links to a couple of mp3 clips.
Yeah it has the floyd rose, but it's not white, mine is used with out any nicks or anything, but the guy had done his own paint job, He basicaly just copied the Dean Vendetta Camo.
Thanks! One of these days I'm gonna have to install a new one. This one is pretty flimsy and it has a weird "action", ie it doesnt feel very accurate.
harley benton eq100,have noise?

@thommasemail : as far as I can tell this pedal isn't noisy at all. Good eq :) At that price, it's pretty safe to give it a try..

I use a ds-1 and hm-2 through a Marshall Triple Super Lead 100 watt head. Just insane swedish sound of 1st Dismember lp.

Sounds plausible! What are your settings on the ds-1 and the head?

the cap is apparently called "collar", so its not the screw-in variety where you actually have to screw in the whole bar.

5hinmyoken 2 years ago
buddy thats one of the best metal tones ive ever heard in my life. crushing and gritty
jimzer 2 years ago
wow thanks. the grittiness is due to the hm-2. it has this great character..

Which Dean do you have? I have the Dean Vendetta 4.0. It's beyond epic.
Ventalei 2 years ago
@Ventalei : Do you have the white one with the floyd rose?
Mine is a real cheap one, 1.f I believe. Nice guitar nonetheless, and I think it's not my last Dean :)
