  • This would be a lot better without the awful music.

  • @missemmibelle ... I made this a long time ago. Its gonna take a lot more than getting rid of the music to make it better :)

  • It's human to seek privacy when urinating & defecating, engaging in intimate behavior, etc. Homosexuals enjoy moonlit strolls on the beach, fine wine, cuisine & art, precious stones, tailored clothing. Actors seek attention & adoration by doing private things publicly.

  • @CelestialEmbodiment are you a closet homo who wants to piss on an actor or something? I just dont get your statement...

  • How dare the government take my right to cross a railroad crossing when a train is coming. I know it's in the constitution that I can run those things without getting a ticket. I read it in the constitution somewhere or other. Well I really don't know anything about the constitution but I'm 4409 so that don't matter do it.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey guess what. Railroad crossing are owned by the Railroad aka a PRIVATE COMPANY. it's not government money going into it, it's Union Pacific's. Take it up with them.

  • @ifoundjebus UP wouldnt say jack crap until a collision occurs. Its state/local govt that would look into this junk not UP or any other railroad.

  • lol

  • Train Car and Auto Accidents.

It goes without saying that when a 3000 pound car and a train weighing several hundred tons meet- tragedy results. According to the US Department of Transportation there are about 5,800 vehicle train crashes each year in the United States-usually at Railroad crossings. These accidents kill 600 people and injure about 2,300.

  • this guy is great

  • Perhaps the camera is simply a way of recording the scene incase of an incident where first-hand footage would be beneficial in assigning liability or increasing safety.

I have seen many crossings with its equipment operating with no train around and on a rare occassion the crossing equipment failed to operate when the train came through.

  • @angryadrien Locomotives have grade crossing cameras onboard to capture a collision and serve as evidence during a lawsuit. That is just as well, because most lawsuits stemming from train v. auto are filed against the railroad, when its the driver running the gate or not paying attention.

that being said; this Redflex system is a way for the municipalities to line their pockets as well. It won't stop a grade crossing collision...just make the city money on the ones that make it

  • All this crap started growing larger after 911 when GW Bush told people in order to be safe we need to give up some of our freedoms when they passed the patriot act. Keep up the good work 4409... zieg Obama. Just think of the chuildren and all the lil puppys and kittys that we will save by taking away your freedom

  • Wow brother your amazing! Wish i could do what you do. They have cameras in hilly grassy areas, (is what the news said) in my town, that are supposedly rolling 24/7 watching everything. Feel weird now.

  • I have seen several people run the gates or slalom around them. They deserve a ticket. I have seen it with kids in the car! What happens when a train hits a car full of innocent kids? It can kill them despite the fact that they are not the ones breaking the law.

  • Fuckin sweet.

  • fantastic we nead one in San Jose and Hayward California. We have a few deaths a year from kids walking on the tracks with their I pods to skate boards crossing. And the community wants the railroad to spend millions making over crossing or something because stupid people that cant look left then right for a train.

  • @trek1200233

Splendid, then with the cameras you have at least the video of their last seconds....

    sick

  • @jcvjcvjcvjcv Yeah, but it is no less sick, than the fact that people like my profession have to remember that same event in our minds for the rest of our lives. All because of someones desire to try and beat the train.

Let me tell you, for some, it becomes a living hell. To see the looks on kids faces as you plow into them, and there is nothing you can do but blow the horn. I want people to see that, and learn from it. Perhaps it would curb these incidents.

  • Ok, but for preventing accidents placing gates is more productive then placing a camera.

That camera will be used to identify vehicles, store who was where when etc.

I really feel sorry for you guys. Here in my country we have a few "train hits person" incidents in a row now.

But what's prompting them here is that the gates are sometimes closed three min. before a train shows up

Wouldn't showing footage from after the accident be just as usefull?

Would it not spark a railroad suicide wave?

  • @jcvjcvjcvjcv Not to some attorney looking for a big settlement. actually showing the actual incident, pretty much protects the carrier or municipality. Footage after the fact is subject to opinions of what actually happened. At least in a court of law.

  • You talked about preventing these incidents. If you show these kids these results, you don't get the attorney crap.

  • Tell ya what. You do my job, and deal with killing someone because they did not yield. Then they haul my ass to court when the family files suit. So I have to deal with it agian.

The railroads are private property folks. The are trying to protect themselves from lawsuits from those involved in grade crossing accidents. That is why they have cameras and event recorders on the locomotives. No government agency tells the companies to install them, they do it to protect themselves.

  • @otef434 how is a camera going to stop you from killing someone...lmao

The amount of ignorance in this country is astounding.

The government approves the cameras douche bag and gets a cut.

  • @RP4409 I will admit, it will not stop anyone from getting killed. Ignorance? This is my line of work, not some hobby or "something I read on the internts".

The land based cameras were first installed in Ames, IA as part of a project that eventually became "Quiet Zones". With a "Quiet Zone", horns are not blown, and the carrier is not held liable for incidents at the crossing. Thus, the City installed them to protect their liability.........

  • @otef434

So because the City now gets footage of the incidents they are not liable?

    :o

  • @jcvjcvjcvjcv The data from Cameras becomes evidence of what actually occurred in an incident. Prior to that, cases were based upon his word versus your word.

Then came event recorders on locomotives, which offered concrete data of the actions of the engineer. Electronic crossing devices, store data to show how they actually worked in an incident. With the advent of cameras on locomotives, the behavior of both the locomotive engineer, and the vehicle driver are recorded.

  • otef434....how often do trains run into cars with fatal accidents?

    I want proof.

I bet you only have 1 accident every 5 to 10 years in America. Does that call for big brother? Does that call for a new tax?

  • @RP4409 Three last week alone on the line I work for.

Statistics? In 2008, 628 people killed, 2,507 injured in 6,375 incidents at grade crossings in the U.S. Data from U.S. DOT/FRA, article in New York Times.

Transport Canada has found that with cameras at crossings, a 34 to 94% reduction in incidents occurred at crossings studied. Only one action brought about 100% elimination of incidents, closing the crossing.

  • @otef434

you really want to know how to stop running across downed gates? install common sense in everyones brains. like this: a train is heavier than a car. if the two were to collode, the car would have a 99.99% chance of loosing the fight.

    traffic cameras = scam

  • @RP4409 In the current scheme of "Quiet Zones" they are not required. Quad gates and medians are.

And, there are devices that have been developed and tested that can stop cars or semi-trucks instead of gates. Cost, is the main reason they are not installed.

  • @otef434 yea why do that when you can make money on a camera and not save any lives....hahaah another sucker born everyday

  • @RP4409 Who said anyone was making money?

Maybe, since the crossings are all private property, the railroads should end all easments for them, and close each and every one of them. Problem solved.

  • @otef434 since when is it NOT about the money?

  • this is why they made horns and bells and really really really bright lights on trains.

  • You think RedFlex would volunteer to put these cameras there?

  • @jcvjcvjcvjcv They got a contract from the municipality, probably in order to create a quiet zone. As I explained before, it is used both for enforcement, and liability, since in a quiet zone situation, the Municipality becomes the liable party.

  • No cameras, privacy please, thanks.

    Oh ya, and Youtube CHEMTRAILS.

  • i totally agree with otef434. its not the railroads fault. gay fucking kids dont look left of right before crossing tracks. they are private property. and its basic common knowledge if something big as twentey hummers comes to hit you you dont go near it.

  • thy need money you know thy dont know no better

  • Hospitals have those huge bars that spring up quick to prevent people from coming in or out of an area, why not just use those?

  • Because the government needs to protect you from yourself. Why don't you understand the government is just there to help our lives out. I mean don't you see the benefit of having the seat belt law?

BTW you should attack that as well. How does me wearing my seat belt protect someone else? That is what the government is suppose to do protect you from OTHER people... not yourself

  • TRMerc......ohhhhhhh man are you getting it now?

The government is to protect and maintain individual rights.

They were not established to do pre-crime

  • No I believed that before I started talking to you. The difference is we seem to disagree on many points while agree on a few. See I'm not brainwashed

While stopping a killer before they can kill is a good thing. Stopping someone from dying from their own stupidity is not

  • exactly the government is starting to become our mommy...i predict in a couple years you'll get your diapers changed by them. we survived for thousands of years without this nonsense. and how are you sure its for protection and for money? hint: capitalism? (or both, mafia style) if they really wanted to protect us why dont they start by abolishing cigarettes? oh right theyll make less money...and everythings getting worse we're getting stripped of our liberties...welcome to the new world order

  • have a moat around the trail tracks and put the loc nes monster in there

  • "Wanna cross? Didn't make it? You die."

    X-D

  • the whole camera thing is getting outa hand its real bad here in u.k with cameras they killed industries now their screwin the public in other ways

  • The railroad monitoring system i can agree on. Think about the engineers and the conducters on board whos lives are changed after a persons death. I can agree on you all fighting the traffic monitoring systems for speed and stop lights. Although they should just scrap it all and higher more Peace Officers to Patrol.

  • More Peace Officers! Yeah more government hired armed thug, I mean men.

I was a Peace officer,,,,,, none exsist today!

  • Cui Bono- To whose benefit? More than likely the insurance companies. However, the law society also makes a killing out of them too.

They're supposed to be preventative, but preventative of what? Preventative of things crashing. Because it saves lives? No, because cars are insured, trains are insured and lives are insured. If any of these are damaged, what do the insurance companies have to do (or try and get out of doing)? PAY OUT! LOSS OF PROFIT.

  • all you need is black plastic bag or some spray paint to get rid of that problem

  • Well the citizens have wanted video footage at crossings for awhile, just to see the railroad is a fault for any accidents. The audio is to see if the train was sounding its horn, and the footage can capture cars going around lowered gates in front of a train. Maybe we won't need these when our fucking motorists get it through their heads to just wait for the damn train.

  • that does not justify MY tax dollars stolen to put this crap up and waste money.

let the train plow the morons down as it should be, put big bumpers on the trains to prevent derailing and speed up at crossings to hit the morons good. So they aren't alive to potentially sue and waste more tax dollars

  • There is no reason on this earth why there should be "sound recordings" of a railroad crossing....

  • You are making the assumption that they are recording 24 hours a day. It is quite possible that the camera is not activated until a locomotive is approaching the crossing. It might be activated when the crossing signals are activated or maybe a little sooner. It might also help a person should the grade crossing signals fail to function and someone is struck by the locomotive. Thus it might not be that bad of a thing to have.

  • Dusty754 I don;t assume I know they record 24 hours a day :) I had them admit it at the state legislature in Arizona a couple of monthe ago.

  • It's just another way for the government to blame it's citizens for the poor spending THEY did. Also, I agree with cusanusnicolas; it's not going to be too long before martial law kicks in.

  • i bet all these camras they are putting up will come in real handy when martial law kicks in.. think about it

  • Oh, yes, I get it now - phony tickets! As if we're not up to our necks in gov and pharmaphraud already... but just wait until martial law time, oh boy....

  • I don't get it. Why? Who wants to stare at videos of cars approaching XX crossings? Can there possibly be anything dummer? But then that fits with most of what we're living with these days, I guess...

  • When will Redflex pull out their videos of cars getting hit by trains? Their cameras are a joke! You know they laugh their asses off all the way to the bank. I guess people who bow to a king or queen find this bullshit acceptable.

  • What the hell is wrong with you people? Why are you concerned by this if you don't brake the law? I am in favor of cameras like this all over the place. It will help keep people safe. End of story.

  • I cross tracks almost daily. Often those lights are going off for no reason. No train. I hope someone burns that thing down.

  • They are a waste of taxpayers money, but I can see your side of the story.

  • too bad no one believes in "No taxation without representation" or just standing up for what they believe in anymore. It's a shame. USA it's been way past our time for us to stand up and overthrow this corrupt government. We need to do it now before there is no more "next time".

  • Its obvious they don't care about this country America.

Just money...I hope everyone that works for this scumwhore of a company has their old mothers Flashed and their children. Anybody that Gets Pictures of people working for this SCAM ROBBERY- Exploit there pictures and Video- Make sure they never get laid again or married, they would take the food off a baby's plate- and not think twice they are THE Enemy and they sure is Hell are not American. They are communist Nazi's at best.

    Nazi mindset.

  • I never got a flash from one of these, but just the Idea infuriates me. British are the ones that started this shit.

over 9 million in england alone.

  • Pipe cutter- large. Cut them off. Fuckers.

    Getting their England Jolly's.

England had over 9 million Camera's.

Take a guess at the Blue Print for America.

  • This is Crazy...I totally agree with the fella narrating the video!! "The train is the ENFORCER"...:D

  • MTA in LA already uses RR crossing cameras. They nail drivers who don't stop when the lights and bells activate.

  • Can you get pictures or video and send it to us?

  • a cordless drill and a can of expanding foam is 1 trick used in the uk

  • smoketweed09 - I like the sound of that......A LOT!!!!!

  • haha that would be cool lol.

too bad that it's a crime - damaging someones property.

you could just throw a trashbag over it and punch couple of holes in it, so the camera wont be damaged by the wapor

  • Somebody needs bomb the hellout of the REDFLEX company.

  • Our brothers across the pond have it all figured out, they hang a car tire over the scamera and set the tire ablaze. It only gets tricky when they've got cameras watching their cameras. It's such a waste of our tax money... Besides no one likes people who bomb things dood.

  • whats 4409?

  • LOL maybe they have lights in the grocery store so if we run the light a small camera will flash haha.

  • Yeps it much better to let morons keeping playing chicken with locomotives. I mean, I'm sure the Engineers and Paramedics all sleep well after cleaning the aftermath of others stupidity. That and of course having the road and railroad blocked for hours after an accident doesn't matter either.

    Grow up.

  • How is a camera going to save a single life? Seriously... What a lame excuse. Do you really want your state to dish out 10,000$ a pop for those things to video/audio record traffic at RR crossings? Then pay yearly/monthly upkeep for the service. What possible good can come of it? BE VERY SPECIFIC PLEASE!

  • I havn't played chicken with a locomotive since they installed those cameras. That was a Saturday night for us, and you would be suprised at how often we would win and the train would turn first. Anyway, I'm just glad those cameras are there, now I feel safe.

  • *PALMFACE*

  • your just a friggin' retard! It's people like YOU that made them install these cameras

  • In my opinion, I would have to say that some one who can't tell the difference between comidic sarcasm and "trains that turn" is the retard... you dumb fuck. It's people like YOU that make Americans seem fat and stupid. Thanks for that.

  • I'm far from AMERICAN thanks!! Keep on saying stupid shit...your rude and obnoxious!

  • Sorry! and, yes. being a fat stupid CANADIAN is so much better. Your Welcome.

  • That is just too much. Absolutely ridiculous. What a crock.

  • I am all for ending speeding and red lights... But this is way to far... - DNatureofDTrain

  • Technology is going to be used to enslave us. This is just a taste.

  • The paradox of the false posotive:

If you have a 99% accurate test and try it on 50 million people, you will get 500,000 false posotives.

These tests are NOT 99% accurate. Try 80% at best.

  • "These tests are NOT 99% accurate. Try 80% at best."

    Even less than that!!!

    watch?v=ulmK6Iz0x58

  • It sorta sounds like they want to cash in every time someone does something "wrong", even if it isn't. It's as if we're not allowed to make decisions anymore; we can no longer understand what's safe, like making a left turn at 2:AM in the middle of nowhere when there's no cars around and you're sitting at a red arrow. Or passing through a malfunctioning RR-Xing 5 minutes after the train is gone.

They tell you all they want to do is keep you safe, while they keep taking MORE of what you have.

  • I think you not need to look at Redflex but the Legislative body that approved and ordered the system. Kind of like pointing fingers at Boeing when the US Air Force drops a bomb out of a B-2. Completely not the issue if you are a critic.

  • people will strike back, against this shit once they realize their pockets are empty form it.

Once America starts it, every country's peoples will follow us into true freedom, not the fakery we have been sold as a Democracy but the true Republic our forefathers left to us. Americans will throw this off someday.

    JUST KEEP SCREAMING!!!!!

  • I will be researching this, thought it was f*()ked up to begin with and smelled like 1984. Just more of the same, people not wanting to stir the waters, or cause a fuss, just get along and go along right? Wrong, we will lose America, sorry, we have LOST America already. This bailout is designed and is being carried out with deadly accuracy. Things are not what they seem, Wake up and research these things. Be informed, be educated, be empowered to stand up against the new world order.

  • My freedoms and rights have not gone anywhere!

  • why people just chop them down and run away!

  • I LOVE YOU and THANK YOU!!!

  • What will anybody do? This whole situation doesn't seem like it will be be stopped.

  • good info thanks

  • Spent this week in PHX and saw dozens of cameras that weren't there last time, just a month or two ago. This is getting pretty friggin' scary, and I don't understand why they remain standing. There should be thousands of people ready and willing to destroy this unconstitutional, illegal menace. We need to get serious about our rights.

  • @sjlibrabbit: Why has it taken you so long to realize that you have to get serious about your right. We have been living in a police state and under a fascist regime for well over a year. Your freedom and rights are long gone.

  • Sorry to disappoint you, Crickettedog, but you can't lay this on me. I've been doing Libertarian for twenty years, my check was in the mail the day Ron Paul announced, and I've been on street corners with signs for a year and a half. And you?

I have a young friend who is voting for the first time. She's going for Baldwin because she's got a lot between her ears. And because I've been talking to her for a year. The youth are our future, and the smart ones aren't chanting Seig Heil Obama.

  • i have smashed the lens of the same camera for the past year, lol so it has never worked and they have repaired it 7 times. I'm pretty sure they are running out of repair funds for this fucking treasonous device!!!

  • theft of the 2008 election <--cut and paste this in the you tube search must see.

  • wow what a great idea finally or tax dollars are going to $omething useful!!!

  • Great...I haven't seen these cams where I'm at...YET. Good work man. You are my new found hero! I really respect what you are doing for us!

  • ☆☆☆☆☆

  • FRAUDULICIOUS!

  • lmao you crack me up RP4409. Keep up the great work

  • the train wins all ties

  • Ron Paul:

    "Earnest" is his middle name.

  • Smile, Uncle Sam Mr. Police state is watching you!

  • Thanks for forwarding this.

Yes, "the new scam", simply amazing. This has good intentions I'm sure, so did the "bailout". Fools.

  • The Cameras are used to determine if the gates came down,The flashing lites were working,The car didnt snake through the gates,It wasnt stuck on the tracks and to rule out suicide,The sound recording is to see if the engineer used the horn and the crossing bells worked. The railroad does not care if you go 100 mph over the tracks, Slam into a locomotive at 100 and they have you on tape. These arnt like the highway auto budget collectors but a way to prove innocent/guilty the engineer, driver,RR

  • There is no need to prove innocent/guilty. If you read your trafic laws book, you would know that trains ALWAYS have the right of way. If there's ever an accident involving a train and a car, it is ALWAYS the car's fault. Regardless whether there's flashing lights or train horn, those are mere courtesy warnings. Besides, if you slam into a train, it's kind of obvious you were there. They can dig your license plate out of the wreckage if need be.

  • I agree. I drive the locomotive hauling 800-1500 passengers. There will be as many lawyers as emergency vehicles on the scene within half an hour. Those cameras cover my butt in a court of law.The finger pointing is rampant and if the video shows the crossing was working properly then the car driver was at fault. The other lawyers will try and make it mine or the railroads.I have to know all NORAC laws which pertain to level crossings.

I just wanted to give a view from the engineers seat.

    RP-08 !

  • If any lawyer ever wins a case in favor of the car driver, then the judge is ignorant of the WRITTEN law. Trains always have the right of way... period! If there's ever an accident, by law it must be the car's fault. These lawsuits should be a non-issue, and any judge worth his robes should instantly rule in favor of the train regardless of any other circumstances. If a judge ever rules against, then he is legislating from the bench instead of following the written law.

  • Wow, I really don't understand how the train driver would ever be targeted by lawyers in that scenario but I really appreciated getting an insider's perspective. America is turning slowly into the kind of surveillance and camera-abound setting as in England...

  • they are moving fast first it was just the car now the train what will they came up with next! .to be continued.

  • stop paying taxes. do not pay your taxes in 2009. just stop feeding the system. slaves revolt.

  • cams can not stop spray cans

  • ahahaha, i gotta say i loved your comment, wanna quick solution? just a quick one tho, spray paint like the brother seagull says.

  • Would this sort of technology have prevented the fatal crash of recent in California involving the commuter train?

  • You will NEVER see these way out in the country where there are NO flahing lights and NO gates at RR crossings. There is NOTHING except a sign.

This camera shit is simply another big brother intallation for certain cities and towns that need close watching by the fascists.

  • It's FRAUDULICIOUS!

    LOL.

  • I was just about to suggest in my comment that the train itself has always been the best enforcer of all . . . just then you said it in the video and I had to LOL.

I love you, man. You have a very logical mind.

  • "The train was the enforcer."

    I love it
