  • @GJNCA Yes, but John later said he did regret the meanness of it, and that part of it came from a bit of jealousy over Paul's commercial succes post-Beatles.

  • Cliff and the Rebel Rousers...every Friday night at Burtons in Uxbridge!!

  • Wish i grew up in the 60s

  • Brilliant reminds me of life in 65!

  • @Goldilocks080350

Its from 66 but fair enough

  • Great song...........That is McCartney on the piano.

  • Killer, the B-side ("Baby Each Day") is equally amazing.

  • Paul McCartney produced the session of this song for Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers, they was artis of Parlaphone. This was edit in august of 1966 and rached the # 8 of british list.

  • 66 what a year the flow just went on and on

  • ''How do you sleep'' the only thing you done was yesterday.

  • i would love to know where your gettin source of info from, cause john actually said ''it is one of pauls best''

  • such passion and it got me through my life

  • Happy to agree with you all. It took me several years before I could really listen to the Beatles version. Didn't have this one so had to make do with the next best. This is brilliant!

  • it still is

  • Great version.

Cliff Bennett is a great singer !

I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2006.

    A true Gent.

  • @Chimbo65

I am mad jealous you met him, haha. He has a truly amazing voice.

  • It's great when your 14 .

  • every day what lyrics unknown talent

  • they was just there at a good time much missed by all these pop exeperts it got me through the night

  • Sounds like Steve Marriott singing the chorsus! I'm a Beatles obsessive, but I concur with the rest: better than the original.

  • I agree patriot0112, better than the original, and although the beatles mastered the art of the pop song, I think this version has more of a sixties feel.

  • Great memories of travelling to school football match in the 60s and hearing it on the car radio. I know that Lennon and McCartney wrote it, but I prefer this to the Beatles version.

  • The 'B' side was "Baby each day". The Rebel Rousers (sans Cliff) recorded "Should I or shouldn't I".

  • thanks for posting this song, i've always liked it. i think the b side was called did'nt i ? if so could you please post it.
