  • All the reasons are not very good options. If this were another series then maybe, but in Shin Megami Tensei, catering to the side that allows humans to exist the easiest is the best. Although Isamu's is the least hellish compared to Absolute Order styled Hikawa or Super Darwin Chiaki.

  • musubi is the beast reason... I only need myself to be fine

  • Why so negative about Musubi, it's the best reason IMO...

And what are the other options than?

Total chaos, total order, back to the way it was before (temporarily...), staying in the void world or fucking the whole universe up...

    Musubi ftw :D

  • You can't be yourself if there's no one else to be not self.

Furthermore, people will only ignore you if you ignore them- and what's real is what is beyond your ability to change and control.

His reason, Musubi, fails because his introspection is not a mirror, it is a hole, he is the center of his world but there's no one, not even him, to look at himself.

  • Isamu may not be a sympathetic character for some people (and maybe not the brightest kid either), but he seems kinda tragic to me. Experiencing the end of the world, one of your only friends turns into some demon-thing, and having to walk the streets of your own world now infested with demons? That'll mess with your head.

Combine all that with how young he is, and it's no wonder his Reason is kinda messed up.

  • On the other hand, he is a total idiot as well, he was pretty fine when he was released by the Demi-Fiend from the Prison, if he had stuck together, he would not have had to get even more messed up. He had the chance to do pretty fine.

But nooo, he had to go by himself.

  • I said he was tragic. I didn't say he was smart. I agree with you there - if he'd tried sticking with his superpowered half-demon pal, he could've turned out quite differently.

  • It's kind of hard to feel sorry for him when there were so many things he could have done to prevent this from happening to him.

  • @vfaulkon I fail to see how Isamu's reason is "messed up". His is the most perfect

  • Well, now he can be a barbershop quartet.

  • Looks like Isamu becomes a Legion knockoff...

  • To me it looks like he is trying to copy The main character's stick. But nothing can replace the original! Accept no substitutes!

  • heh..im sure we all feel like him now a days :p i kno i do.

  • I love Musubi. I wish this were to happen in real life

  • @devaloki why?...

  • @Irieane because other people are always hell . people are better off away from each other. the only reason to interact is for money really. but if we could be immortal and create our own pleasures in our world, why do we need this world of death so we can have other 'real ' beings?

  • @devaloki i know a lot of people are really shit but not always you will meet bad people but, is only my opinion i just hope you will find better people to talk in real life :)

  • @Irieane that's partially true but at same time I still keep by my opinion/this Reason. I think you're a bit naive on the whole matter of people and the world not to accept this one. no offense

  • @Irieane maybe

  • I've always wondered about Isamu and why he chose that particular Reason. With Chiaki, we at least get a glimpse of what her personality was like before the world ended (her motivation for being at that hospital was to talk to her supposedly sick teacher about her career goals), but we're not given very much to go on with Isamu at all. I guess he was a bit of a loner in his previous life, but that didn't really come across in the hospital scenes.

  • He wants a world where he can get away with anything. At least that's from what I can tell. Haven't played this game yet.

  • I think Isamu's transformation was the most horrifying in the game. Chiaki's was pretty drastic, but at least she didn't have freakin' faces growing out of her torso.

  • "The Sidekick that once wandered this world is now gone"

    Rofl.

I remember this...it as like years ago. God do I miss this game...and it's Hellish nature.

  • this might be the most disturbing series ive ever played. its like the video game equivlent of akira. not that there alke, they just creep me out in the same way. oh well. dante's always there to provide comic relief.

  • Amazing. Thank you very much for this one.

  • He still looks human to me.

  • Fool! Do you not see the faces!

  • I do see them, they just didn't make Isamu less human. If the ghosts were replaced with teeth, then he would look way more demonic. His demon God Noah didn't look too demonic either.

  • That last part I have to agree with you on. Noah looked more like a piece of avant-garde art, and don't even get me started on Noah with Isamu's head. Now, Ahriman, THAT'S Demonic.

  • I just don't get why "Noah" is called Noah. I did not see much relation with that mantee thing with the Ark, or Utnapishtim or anything else that might be related to Noah.

And it was the worst fight in the game. Not looking forward to it without Pierce.

    Or with Pierce. Grah.

  • I always figured it was because "Noah" was supposed to be the god of isolation, and the Noah from the Bible experienced near-perfect isolation after the Flood (if you don't count his wife and sons and daughters-in-law).

  • It could have worked better if was Jonah... And you know, the whale.
