kane kosugi is one of the best martial arts actors out there... when i first saw muscle heat i fell in love!!! i hate that lame and fake action "stars" like vin diesel or steven seagal become really famous and genius like kane remain unknown for the mainstream
Kane Kosugi is sooo awesome, he should have been this generations major "IT" action star!!! It be so cool if he'd get casted in Expendables 2 cuz he deserves it. I hope he breaks into more action movies in the future because he has terrific talent and he's an amazing actor, he should really put it on there in cinema movies
Kane Kosugi is American born & bred, but he has to work overseas because Hollywood is shit. That's messed up. He has the talent & sex appeal of a leading man in any American film. If Hollywood had any brains (as if), they'd stop casting Jet Li & Jacky Chan in everything & hire Kane Kosugi.
does he plan to statrt ninja acting i wonder, and if so he needs to be in ninja assasin 2 with better styles and there needs to be an american white ninja in it.
Kane would probably be the best Ryu hoshi from a new and at last good Street Fighter movie!! He's japanese, he's martial arts expert and he's in a very good shape! What else it would be needed?
If Baek was in the Tekken movie, I think Jung Doo Hong would be perfect!
Tony Jaa is too "superman" in his fight scenes, sorta like Jet Li... Where it's one guy v.s. hundred and none of them can land a single hit. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Jaa or Li because I love their films as well.
while Jaa's long take is extremely impressive on a technical level, Kane Kosugi's 3 cut long takes are much more impressive on a performance level, especially with the stuntmen. The scene feels that much more spontaneous instead of pre-planned (which with the shot in TYG, it HAD to be of course, to get all the beats right) and it feels that much more natual because of it.
yeah i notice you and the rest of LPB seem to combine hk style and korean style cinema in your fights. hk choreogrpahy with a mix of korean intensity. I actually do like this fight better than jaa's long take, but since there are cuts i feel it was a bit easier to capture the intensity. jaa's long take was almost done indie style w/ one camera getting all the angles, which is why i liked it.

This guy is really good. Definitely deserves to be a Hollywood actor.
They shot this whole scene in one take? WOW! Reminds me of the hospital scene from John Woo's "Hard boiled"

Why he is not the top MA movie star in the galaxy is beyond me...

I guess because he is a bad-ass. Hollwood is many things. Bad-ass is probably not one of those things, most of the time.

I think we all know that if a REAL Street Fighter movie was made, this would be the guy to play Ryu.
I've always admired him since Ninja Warrior, he's very athletic and speaks perfect English. It's a shame he's not bigger in Hollywood.

i have him as my top pick for ryu as well

Yeah, I think everyone who's in the know thinks so too, but even if you look within the comments there's folks who don't of him. Shame.

that was pretty awesome, but it wasn't one full take so it's unfair to compare it to tony jaa's long take.

Jaa's long take did not have this type of intensity. I have grown to really like Korean Cinema. I hope this opens up an idea for a feature.
