This song will never work on a guitar. Try a piano.

This man is right. What makes this song so epic is the playing of chords on a piano while retaining the same bass note (something the beach boys helped pioneer according to Elton himself)... you can't do this on a solo acoustic guitar very effectively. Would help to record a bass track, but even then it's not the same. Props for trying, though.
