I would have rathered nWo booked, in that way I mentioned...then continue to when HBK joined, etc. But with, say Goldberg...I thought he was booked very well in WWE, almost too well. So maybe it's best he wasn't there in 01. Of course we all wanted a dream-team 5 on 5, but for storyline purposes, it would have been too tough.

Another oversight: they should have booked Austin as part of ECW not WCW. Woulda made more sense.

Heyman offered to give Steve the ECW championship in literally his first match, and Austin declined. He would have built the brand around him, but respected him enough to release him to go to WWF.

ECW mattered, pal. It mattered enough for Vince to fund Paul Heyman. He even went as far as to have RVD cut a promo on with Jerry Lawler and wrestle Sabu ON RAW, advertising their first PPV...

I'm not one of those ECW marks who claims that the Attitude Era was an ECW rip, but I give credit where it's due. Not only did Austin wrestle there, it's where he created the Stone Cold character. Yup. Add Mick Foley, the Radicals, Raven, RVD and many others to the list that earned their stripes in ECW...

Austin really made the most of his opportunities, in six years between 1996-2002 he managed to fit in just about every angle you could imagine.He casts a huge shadow over wrestling...so much so that everybody who has come since seems to pale in comparison. The Rock entertaining as he was, wasn't as over. Watch his match vs Hogan in Toronto Wrestlemania for proof!
