@lizazoon Because we have the freedom to choose. We can always ask Him for guidance before we choose...which we mostly choose not to do. He is, in fact, extremely generous with input to those who seek Him with respect in their hearts. These things did not come about because of the bible itself. These things happened because people made bad choices and evil decisions. In fact, those same people opposed having the book translated into languages the common people could read for themselves. @tallliza Key words "in the name of"....never "at the direction of" however. "Free will" was a very risky thing to give us. Without it, though, a love that is real and freely given is not possible. We would not be capable of choosing to love anyone. Apparently, us having that capacity is worth to Him much more than we can possibly imagine.

Let me explain myself: were we for a day to be endowed with omniscience, there would be a whole lot of things we would do that other people would not understand because we had inside knowledge i.e the bigger picture. All the disasters you are citing are not His doing, but of His arch-enemy, bent on proving the character and law of God burdensome and redundant. Even Nature has laws, and when their broken, bad things happen!

@lizazoon Because we have the freedom to choose. We can always ask Him for guidance before we choose...which we mostly choose not to do. He is, in fact, extremely generous with input to those who seek Him with respect in their hearts. But since nothing in our hearts is beyond His pervue, scoffers and mockers can ask all they want and possibly (maybe even usually) hear nothing back. His own self-report regarding His intentions towards us is in Jeremiah 29:11-14a.
