I created a line on the circle. The circle didnt have a face filling in the space between the lines so drawing over an existing line in the circle creates the missing face. This meant I could use the push/full tool to extrude the circle as a cylinder
I am guessing your talking about the lines that appear between the offset circles; they appear as soon as one of the circles is moved in any direction other than the 2D plane it was made on. I could move it along the Blue or Red axis, which it was made on, and the lines wouldnt appear. If I moved it along the Green, for example, the lines would appear but smoothed. Your could only see them if you un-softened the object
If you havent moved it, breaking the 2D plane, then it wouldnt create the lines.
Also make sure you have display edges on and that the mesh is either a group or component. Now try to soften the mesh by right clicking the group/component.
Often if its raw mesh you are trying to soften nothing will happen, if this happens follow the steps above and it should solve it.
Often when you do it, it creates a single face, like a square. If there is editing being done to these faces they often split into two triangles.
This happens because the triangle is the only shape where, no matter how long or in which direction each side goes, there is always a flat area between each.
How did you do 0:25

I selected the rim and went to soften edges then put it all the way down but no lines show up. What should i do?

Sorry to keep on bugging you but when I did what you said I didnt get nearly as many lines as you did. Is there any way I can get as many as you?

Also, when you create a circle you can type the amount of sides you wish it to have, eg; 100. And then press enter/return
RogueAutomotive 2 years ago
how did you push and pull those lines when your making the rim at 0:46 to 1:07
chuckie0101 3 years ago
Use the Offset tool
RogueAutomotive 3 years ago
Yes, but the only real difference between SU free and Pro is Pro lets you export to different formats

Okay... Your better at making wheels then anybody I know!!! Great work. Really helpful too, I'm gonna try it.

Thanks for the comment, I actually thought I didn't do too well...The wheel is in the warehouse if you want to have a look.

If you do something like put it on a vehicle, Or a car, Truck, Or SUV I think it will look better.
Oh by the way, I made a 2008 Rogue Ultimatum Limited last night and now the file is lost, Damn it was really cool too.
