Don't miss the beauty of the art by getting hung up on fighting and killing; I'm a master in southern Shaolin hurricane fist and several animal styles, but I also carry a concealed fire arm "legally". All mature students of Kung Fu and Karate understand the difference between the "MARTIAL and the ART". There are many graceful moves in my forms; but I can also rip off your nuts and shove them down your windpipe if need be. Don't judge; just enjoy.
Water snake is most certainly a real style. Drunken snake however is not... unless it was recently created which wouldnt match the age of this video... that being said this is Emei Snake Fist Style. I have trained in it. and it was an ok display for the time, though it could have done without the stupid added sound.
taiqidragon...you are sadly mistaken if you think silk-reeling is a state of mind. you couldn't possibly be more wrong with almost everything that you posted. so, as opposed to flaming with you here i'll let you continue to have the misguided opinion that you have any idea whatsoever what you're talking about. i can't be responsible for correcting everyone's ignorance. your post reflects your lack of any viable knowledge on the subject. so continue in your misguided ignorance my friend.
ichi...do your research man. it's contemporary wushu DRUNKEN SNAKE FORM. i'm not basing my opinion on the "wiggly-type movement" she is doing (which is a sorry modern attemp at generating saan su jin, or silk reeling energy, and fajin or explosive power. of course, simply using the term "wiggly-type movement" causes me to dismiss your opinion altogether as uneducated.
frappfreak... u, my friend, are the one that seems to need to research your styles. first, reeling the silk is a frame of mind that belongs to the wudang styles such as taiqi. wushu isnt meant to be as practical as kung fu, the "wiggly" movements are shown to symbolize fluidity and power flowing from the hips and legs... this could be any northern shaolin snake style, and as for drunken snake, ive never heard of such, but i dont doubt it exists.
Correction..not water snake, not drunken, either. It seems that way b/c of her movements, but you've also to understand that comp wushu is like comp ice skating; focus on embellishments in the movements and such. Traditionally, snake fist movements involve that wiggly-type motion you see her doing, as most of the power (also in most styles) is derived from legs n hips. Especially for a style that uses an open hand as it's main form of offense.
I couldn't see or understand what she was doing for most of the video. Can't blame the performer, just older video quality. Looked like a good number of moves had her completely open for attack, but I'm no sifu. Snake is a lot of fun though & my fav. empty hand style.
Fucking yankee cocksucker, what do you practice that makes you so good? Do you even know what kung fu and wushu are, I think your one of these people that get taught a load of shite and believe anything else is inferior
Snakes make chipmunk noises?

modern wusu nonsense, this is not kungfu. its just a performance act. that is just laughable, and an insult to traditional kungfu wusu practicioners.
