It seemed to take forever for me to get used to their new cd but it is really growing on me. I have just fallen in love with MK ultra tonight, and the exogenesis trilogy didn't take long for me to like.
I was scared of having lost Muse but it is not the case after all :'-)

this album has some good songs. But i cant say its one that rocks my boat. Ive been watching muse since 2005, and i really hope itll be a rock out album next year like some of the earlier albums, cause this one is heading towards synthy qeen rock pop. I think the problem is most of the "popular" rap is like that. There is some good stuff out there with real creativity and purpose, but they don't become popular the way the club style rap does.

k so pretty much, Uprising is the only good song on the whole album with hooks & a good feel. No, you can't compare them to Queen, Queen had strong hooks.. at least on all their singles. Muse seems to be famous for one reason, they always have a lot of personality in their music (which I like a lot!) which seems to reel people in, but I'd really like to hear some strong hooks from them. So far, I like Uprising & New Born by Muse, that's it. I'm not bashing, so no smart ass replies please

Absolutely, Muse songs do have the effect of growing on you. So I think I am going to fall in love with this new album eventually, although first impressions were not overwhelming. But MUSE FOR EVER AND EVER NO MATTER WHAT!!!

There were very high expectations on this album. I think it is a very good one, not convinced if it is Muse's best one though. Let's give the songs more time to grow on us and resume this discussion in a couple of weeks.

Hmm I'm not really into this album like I am the rest. They have a different sound in this cd. They sound kind of mainstreamish. They were amazing and had this crazy beautiful sound to them, especially matts mad guitar skills, and now they don't sound like that here. It's not a bad cd but eh. i dunno about this album cause they mainly put matt in the spotlight the whole time, which isn't bad... but it doesn't have the same affect as black holes and revelations. Anyway i'm not saying that this album sucks.
It's far too soon for you to be ranking this album. The music needs to take time to mature in your mind and develop. It's like comparing an adult to a fetus; you need to give it time before becoming set on an opinion.
I'm very selective over the music I listen to and Black Holes and Revelations really struck a cord with me (Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Map of the Problematique and Knights of Cydonia in particular). This new ablum just doesn't really have that same effect on me so I'm a little disappointed.

rush of blood to the head was the best album, and xyz. but 'viva la vida' and 'prospekts march' in my opinion were too broad. they tried to please too people and failed. i mean i like strawberry swing and death and all his friends... and postcards but that's bout it. rush of blood to the head was the best and always will be. they changed. and thats wat happened to muse. i like their old stuff.
its pretty good, but i love their older albums way more than this. This one is just has too many songs that are "pop" influenced for me. for anyone just getting into this band i recommend the songs: hysteria, starlight, bliss, falling away with you, butterflies and hurricanes. Just a few of my favs ;) rock on muse.

There's actually only 1 song that has Queen-like parts in it. The rest of it is Muse like only Muse can do it!
I love this album. Really takes a whole new direction. But the build-up of songs is fantastic! It's not some weird patch-up, it's a gradual build up.
I reccomand NOT putting this on shuffle! ^_^
Can't wait to see them in november!!

There were very high expectations on this album. I think it is a very good one, not convinced if it is Muse's best one though. Let's give the songs more time to grow on us and resume this discussion in a couple of weeks.

I was a huge muse fan, and am completely blown away by their musical talent... But this album... All of the songs remind me of their old songs because they're so similar... Disappointed

Undisclosed desires is the best i've heard... The others are a little, average... like the piano in United states of Eurasia though! Average is good. They all sound better live, like good ol' Muse. Buying this soon! I bet i'll get into all of the songs after about 3 listens <3 Muse!

Its honestly not bad, just unexpected. I dunno, out of all their albums I still like the very first best. Eh, as long as my art muse is still happy I suppose its all good. Ill be buying it anyways. o.o Though I get the feeling some tracks will be skippable...

the album was kinda short compared to the others no? Love Exogenesis, I Belong, Undisclosed, and Unnatural Selection. :D
The only thing that bugs me a LEEEEL bit is the drumming.
I've LOVED the sound of his drums especially in ORIGINS and here, theyre kidna in teh background clouded out.
But worth the wait, definitely worth the listen, so far no hope in ever seeing them live =__=

Hmm I'm not really into this album like I am the rest. They have a different sound in this cd. They sound kind of mainstreamish. They were amazing and had this crazy beautiful sound to them, especially matts mad guitar skills, and now they don't sound like that here. It's not a bad cd but eh. I do like the exogenesis series and uprising.

i didnt like this algum much but i some songs there is the orchestra realy great...i this album there is kind of a new muse, i preferr the old one, in this album the songs has this kind of 'romantic' air to it.

i dunno about this album cause they mainly put matt in the spotlight the whole time, which isn't bad... but it doesn't have the same affect as black holes and revelations. Anyway i'm not saying that this album sucks.

I'm very selective over the music I listen to and Black Holes and Revelations really struck a cord with me (Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Map of the Problematique and Knights of Cydonia in particular). This new ablum just doesn't really have that same effect on me so I'm a little disappointed.

rush of blood to the head was the best album, and xyz. but 'viva la vida' and 'prospekts march' in my opinion were too broad. they tried to please too people and failed. i mean i like strawberry swing and death and all his friends... and postcards but that's bout it. rush of blood to the head was the best and always will be. they changed. and thats wat happened to muse. i like their old stuff.

its pretty good, but i love their older albums way more than this. This one is just has too many songs that are "pop" influenced for me. for anyone just getting into this band i recommend the songs: hysteria, starlight, bliss, falling away with you, butterflies and hurricanes. Just a few of my favs ;) rock on muse.
