What im trying to say is that they never had a major crash compare Southwest's "Crashes" to Us Airways Crashes. Plus Southwest has almost double the fleet Us Airways has. It took us till about 8 this morning to retrieve our missing luggages !!!!!! And sadly, our hotel was 108 frkin miles from San Fransisco !!!!!! Screw Southwest !! And they have no in flight entertainment systems !!!!

actually Air Tran uses the DC9 for its entire fleet that it purchased from a failed airline company.

Looks like Southwest is concerned more about the competition AirTran presents them than any other airline. Airtran does have a much better product.  You get assigned seats so you don't have to fight for a seat, XM radio, business class seats and wireless internet.

Trying to rent or borrow at least a similar enough aircraft (i.e. DC9, MD80, or 717) wouldn't be worth it since only a portion of the audience would catch the difference. Southwest used what they have.

Interesting that Southwest actually came after Airtran like that. Bags may fly free on Southwest, but as I recall, who has been getting dinged on not maintaining their aircraft by the F.A.A? I think that bag fee ensures that the Airtran aircraft are at least shown to be airworthy. So when im flying, would I want to be on an airline who is fined millions of dollars for not maintaining their aircraft? Or do I step foot on a plane that is maintained? Do the math. :)
