But the cars doing that kind of stuntwork are virtually always total piles of crap. They patch those cars together with fiberglass, bondo, aluminum tape, pop rivets, hardware store sheetmetal, etc.

It's easy to say "it could be fixed up." But that's true for thousands of classic cars out there. The question is whether someone is gonna put the many thousands of dollars into doing it.
