Statistics show the more educated an individual, the less likely they are to be religious or believe in a god. 72% of the National Academy of Sciences members have a 'personal disbelief in god' and another 20% claim 'doubt or agnosticism'. 850,000,000 people around the world are Atheist, Agnostic or Non-Religious. That's more than 1 out of 10 people, making up the 4th largest belief group. Less than 1% of the US prison population is 'atheist'. Does make you wonder.

One of the most educated and influential men in regard to the history of science and history overall, Sir Isaac Newton, was a highly dedicated believer. He would also effectuate more studies on Biblical hermeneutics than the natural science he is remembered for today. I believe that those statistics represent a trend in which society tends to evolve more sinful through the increasing distance from God in time.Just my opinion.

A God who kept tinkering with the universe was absurd; a God who interfered with human freedom and creativity was tyrant. If God is seen as a self in a world of his own, an ego that relates to a thought, a cause separate from its effect. he becomes a being, not Being itself. An omnipotent, all‐knowing tyrant is not so different from earthly dictators who make everything and everybody mere cogs in the machine which they controlled. An atheism that rejects such a God is amply justified.

If God had wanted to make robots, He could have done that. Instead, He gives us the choice to love Him and submit to Him, or reject Him. Otherwise, it wouldn't be real love, would it?

I'd like to bring attention to Josh McDowell (author of "Evidence That Demands a Verdict"), who set out to prove Christianity had no foundation and, in the end, gave his life to the Lord. In my experience, the more "educated" people in our society dismiss religion before they fully understand it.
